LIVESTREAM DEBUT In 2017, the PRCA launched ProRodeoTV. com, presenting the opportunity to watch live and archived rodeos. After subscribers log in, they’re able to view PRCA-sanctioned rodeos throughout North America as they happen, including some of the organization’s biggest rodeos in 2018. HOW DOES IT WORK? ProRodeoTV is a subscription-based digital platform solely owned by PRCA membership. Annual subscriptions with full access average out to 27 cents per day, $8.33 per month. It is hosted by CBS Interactive Advanced Media; as it reaches its full potential, profits will go back to PRCA members. ProRodeoTV is available to subscribers via home computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones. THE LAUNCH The Wrangler Champions Challenge Finale on Sept. 29-30 in Sioux Falls, S.D., was the first livestreamed event on ProRodeoTV. com. Its livestreams are producedwith crews, dedicated announcers, and proprietary graphics – it’s a complete production. ProRodeoTV livestreamed the 2017Wrangler National Finals Rodeo to over 50 countries worldwide and streamed the Canadian Finals Rodeo to over 35 countries. ProRodeo TV will livestream 13 Wrangler ProRodeo Tour events in 2018, with the remaining Tour rodeos webcast live through an exclusive license on the Wrangler Network. VIDEO ON DEMAND In addition to rodeo livestreams, there are 50 years of PRCA video archives that have been converted to digital format on ProRodeoTV, including the inaugural NFR in 1959. VOD access includes recent PRCA episodes from the CBS Sports Network, the 2017 NFR, archives of NFR and regular season, the best of rodeo video and other shorts and features. Content of this nature will continue to be added and rotated on a regular basis.
