WELCOME TO THE WRANGLER NFR
PRCA Chief Executive Officer George Taylor PRCA ProRodeo file photo
Welcome to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), being held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas for the first time ever! After an unprecedented and challenging year, we are so pleased to be at this amazing stadium, home of the Texas Rangers, for the most celebrated event on the rodeo calendar. Thank you for being here; we are committed to keeping everyone safe and delivering a spectacular event. For the next 10 days, you will witness PRORODEO’s top athletes take on the toughest stock and vie to become the next world champions of our great sport. To be an NFR qualifier is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for every PRORODEO contestant. These athletes have worked tirelessly and traveled thousands of miles to earn this chance of a lifetime. What a wonderful opportunity for PRORODEO’s premier rodeo to be the first non-baseball event held at this extraordinary park. Also, the Profession- al Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is proud to partner with the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) and share this remarkable venue for the inaugural Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping – Dec. 8-10 – in conjunction with the NFR. It’s an exciting and valuable opportunity for women ropers to compete for the first-ever world championship and a $200,000 purse. Since 1985, the NFR has been held at theThomas &Mack Center in Las Vegas, but because of coronavirus restrictions in Nevada this year, the venue wasn’t available for live entertainment with fans. In a survey earlier this summer, 80% of PRORODEO fans said that they wanted an NFR venue that would accommodate fans, and the PRCA has been committed to delivering on that. After exploring different locations for 2020, it was clear the best option was to bring the Finals back to its birthplace in the Lone Star State. Texas and rodeo go together; they always have. In 1959, the
very first NFR was held at the Dallas State Fairgrounds and remained there for three years until it was moved to different state. This year, we are proud to offer fans the full NFR experience, along with the annual PRCA Convention that will take place in Fort Worth, Cowboy Christmas and other fan-favorite events. This has been a thoughtful partnership between Texas, Globe Life Field, the cities of Arlington and Fort Worth, the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau, Visit Fort Worth, and the Sports Commissions of both Arlington and Fort Worth. The team effort put forth to accomplish this in a short amount of time is incredible, and we thank our amazing partners who helped make this happen. Amid these difficult times, we have set a new bar for the NFR. Our cowboys and cowgirls love to compete in front of fans and will do so safely by complying with all health and safety protocols at Globe Life Field. We must all work together to get that done and need fans to also comply with health and safety requirements at the event. The Cowboy Channel, PRCA on TCC Plus and RFD-TV will air the 10-day NFR live at 8 p.m. ET each night fromGlobe Life Field, with East and West Coast prime time encores airing the next day. Other coverage will include an NFR pre-show, NFR opening ceremony and NFR post-show for 10 straight evenings. Good luck to our skilled contestants who worked incredibly hard to get here and thank you rodeo fans for your continued support and enthusiasm for PRORODEO. Have a great time, be safe, and be sure to cheer on contestants as they ride into the arena to compete in the long-standing sport we love. Best regards, George H. Taylor, PRCA CEO

GLOBE LIFE FIELD FACTS
HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS All occupants inside Globe Life Field (GLF) are required to wear a face mask at all times. Please use the hand washing and sanitizing stations throughout the venue. WRANGLER NFR NO-BAG POLICY In order to reduce touch points between employees and guests, no bags will be permitted except for those that are carried for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children. No outside food is permitted inside the ballpark. One (1) sealed non-flavored water (plastic bottle only) that is one 1 liter or less in size will be allowed per guest for medical rea- sons or for use with baby formula. No bag storage is available at the ballpark. Ex- ceptions: Medically necessary items and diaper bags will require thorough bag inspections at the entrance. Any refusal for inspection will be denied entrance into the arena. There will be a metal detector in use during all 10 performances. PURPOSE GLF, which was built as a public-private partnership between the City of Arlington and professional baseball team the Texas Rangers, is not only the team’s new home but also a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue that includes capabilities for hosting numerous local, regional, and national events. This year (2020) marks the first year for the Rangers to play in the new ballpark. The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is the first non-baseball event to be held at this modern venue.
SEATING CAPACITY The overall capacity of Globe Life Field is approximately 40,300 on seven seating levels. The facility was designed to bring fans “closer to the action” from every seat. There are 12 field suites located directly behind home plate as well as low-level club seating down both the first and third base lines. In accordance with Texas’ occupancy guidelines (due to the coronavirus pandemic) seating capacity at the Wrangler NFR will be reduced to 50 percent with seats spaced apart and sold in groups of four. INCEPTION The official groundbreaking for GLF took place on September 28, 2017 with construction being completed in less than 30 months. The project cost for GLF is approximately $1.2 billion. SIZE GLF measures 1.8 million square feet, 400,000 square feet more than Globe Life Park. At its highest point, GLF is 278 feet from the playing field to the top of the retractable roof. The park has six entry points, the Northwest, North, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and VIP entry on the West side. RETRACTABLE ROOF
The 5.5-acre retractable roof is intended to provide shade and a cooler tem- perature 365 days a year, keeping the average temperature in the mid-70’s. It is the largest single-panel operable roof in the world and weighs 24 million pounds. The roof is comprised by a white rubber membrane on the north and south sloped planes, and the flat center is covered with 223 clear panels made of ethylene tetrafluoroethylene – a transparent plastic polymer related materi- al – allowing for natural light to fill the entire facility. The roof can open in approximately 12 minutes. WRANGLER NATIONAL FINALS RODEO 5

ALL-AROUND SEASON LEADER
Wright, Cooper, Smith battle for the all-around
The potential to win three world titles boiled down to an eight-second ride on Burch Rodeo’s Lunatic FromHell at the end of the regular season. Luckily, StetsonWright thrives under pressure. With a 90-point ride, the defending all-around world champion simultaneously took the lead in the PRCA | RAM World Standings for the all-around title and qualified in a second event for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo during the Gold Buckle Beer ProRodeo Tour Finale at the end of September. “I honestly wasn’t paying too much attention to the all- around standings since I was third, but when the season ended, I looked and was like, ‘How the heck did that happen?’” Stetson laughed. “I’m not going to lie to myself, I don’t feel like I had a good year at all when it came to bull riding. I started riding good at the end of the year and that is better than having a bad end to the year and carrying that into the Finals.” Wright’s lead, however, didn’t last long. Following the ClemMcSpadden National Finals Steer Roping, Nov. 6-7, Tuf Cooper finished sixth in the steer roping world standings to move into the lead of the all-around stand- ings with $111,450. “I did pretty well at the NFSR, and I have the lead in the all-around now,” said Cooper, 29. “But Stetson has broncs and bulls each night and I have calves. Who knows what will happen? Stetson might ride all 10 (in his events), who knows? Honestly, my focus is winning the world championship in (tie- down) roping. If I win the world championship in (tie-down) roping I’m probably going to win the all-around. Cooper’s brother-in-law, Trevor Brazile, notched his eighth steer roping world title and climbed to second in the world standings. But Brazile isn’t competing at the Wrangler NFR. Then there’s Clay Smith, the two-time defending world champ in team roping heading. Smith is fourth with $80,737 and in contention for his third consecutive heading title.
12, 2014) and one in the all-around (2017) – is competing in tie-down roping at the Finals. “I’m coming in second (in tie-down roping) and I have a bunch to gain on Shad (Mayfield). What I think is cool about the all-around this year is there are only three guys who have a chance to win it. The cool thing is Stetson, Clay (Smith) and I are all doing different events, and it should be a lot of fun to see who wins.” Adding saddle bronc riding to his NFR routine won’t wear down Stetson, instead it revs him up for bull riding. “When I get off my bronc, I feel warmed up and good,” Stetson said. “I feel like I have an advantage since I’ll be fired up by the time I get on my bull.” His brother agreed. “He feeds off pressure,” Rusty said. “If he makes a good bronc ride, or if I do or Ryder does, he feeds off it and will do better in bull riding. So, if anything, it’ll make his bull riding even better.” No longer a rookie, Stetson’s approach hasn’t changed. “He’s always gone at it all the way or not at all,” Rusty said. “You can tell when Stetson has his riding pants on; he can ride the rankest bulls and the rankest broncs, and just like they say in the movie “The Cowboy Way,” ‘Stetson can sure cowboy when he wants to.’” –Matt Naber PRCA ProRodeo file photo 2017 PRCA All-Around World Champion Tuf Cooper will compete against Stetson Wright and Clay Smith for the all-around world title at this year’s Wrangler NFR.
GETTING BOTH EVENTS GOING Although saddle bronc riding is a Wright family tradition – Stetson will be joined by his brothers Rusty and Ryder in the saddle bronc riding competi- tion – Stetson almost pulled out of the race. “In bull riding fromDay 1 of this year I kept getting hurt, but in bronc riding I was so done with it and I didn’t even want to do it anymore,” Stetson said. “I was tired of getting bucked off and making myself look dumb. Then I wasn’t doing well in bull riding and was doing well in saddle bronc riding; but at the end of the season I was riding well in both and I haven’t felt that since high school.” Stetson’s saddle bronc riding turned around in February, but his bull riding wasn’t right until mid-September, he said. Stetson finished the regular season with a $1,037 lead over Tuf Cooper in the race for the all-around title and the roles switched when Cooper picked up $25,903 at the ClemMcSpadden National Finals Steer Roping. Now Stetson has a gap of $24,866 to close. “I hope he (Cooper) has his best Finals yet,” Stetson said. “I want everyone to do well. I don’t want to say I won when everyone had a bad year.” LOOKING TO TIE DOWN ANOTHER TITLE Cooper, a four-time world champion – three in tie-down roping (2011-
