Hailey Frederiksen - 2022 Hailey Frederiksen spent the past two years serving as Miss Rodeo Colorado, waiting patiently for her opportunity to run for Miss Rodeo America. It was well worth the wait for Frederiksen. On Dec. 5, at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Frederiksen was namedMiss Rodeo America 2022 after eight days of pageantry with 31 states being represented. “This is something that I’ve wanted since I was 12 years old,” Frederiksen said. “The moment right now as cliché as it sounds is very surreal, it hasn’t sunk in yet that I get to call myself not a state name anymore, but I am now Miss Rodeo America 2022.” It’s an honor she’s envisioned for years now. It was a simple sticky note that was always there to keep her pushing forward to that goal. “I have a sticky note that’s on my mirror at home and it says Miss Rodeo America 2022, Hailey Frederiksen,” she said. “I thought to myself if I could see it, read it, then I can be it.” Frederiksen is now the 66th woman to wear the crown as Miss Rodeo America and just the sixth to come from the State of Colorado. She said while the last two years were a dream come true, she can’t wait to see what the future holds. “I got two years as a state queen, I was Miss Rodeo Colorado 2020 and 2021,” Frederiksen said. “So, to get a third year is just a cherry on top. I’m looking forward to creating even more great memories down the road and hopefully following the legacy of some of these incredible women who have held this crown and sash as well.” The Wellington, Colo., native is from a town of just over 6,000 people, where agriculture and the western way of life is ingrained in the community. She said the lessons she learned during those years is what put her in a position to be where she is today. “Rodeo, agriculture, and the western way of life has been something that has been a part of my life my entire existence,” Frederiksen said. “I remember going to school with hay in my hair and in my sweatshirts and of course other kids not understanding. “I was proud of the lifestyle I grew up in, it taught me the work ethic and passion that I have today, and it’s gotten me to where I am today standing in these boots as Miss Rodeo America.”
