PRCA Business Journal - April 14, 2023

FORMAT: ALL EVENTS . All 15 contestants in each event will compete during the performance on April 28. The top 8 based on highest scores or fastest times in each event will advance to a Semi Finals held during the performance on April 29. If ties result in more than 8 to advance, the tied contestant(s) ranked highest in the 2023 PRCA Rookie Standings for that respective event (as of 7 days prior to entry closing) will advance. If there are less than 8 qualified scores or times in the first go-round, a random draw by the judges will determine which contestants with no score or no time will advance. The top 4 contestants from the Semi-Finals based on highest scores or fastest times will advance to the Shoot-Out Round also held during the performance on April 29. If ties result in more than 4 to advance to the Shoot-Out Round, the tied contestant(s) with the highest score(s) in the first go-round will advance. If still tied, the tied contestant(s) ranked highest in the 2023 PRCA Rookie Standings for that respective event (as of 7 days prior to entry closing) will advance. If there are less than 4 contestants in an event that do not have a qualified score or time in either the first go-round or the Semi-Finals, only the contestants with a qualified score or time will advance. PAYOFF: There will be no payoff for the Semi Finals, or the average. The first go-round will pay 8 places: $1,328.89 for 1st, $1,155.56 for 2nd, $982.22 for 3rd, $808.89 for 4th, $635.56 for 5th, $462.22 for 6th, $288.89 for 7th, and $115.56 for 8th. The Shoot-Out Round will pay 4 places: $2,500 for 1st, $1,500 for 2nd, $1,000 for 3rd, and $500 for 4th. These amounts are per man in the TR. If there are less qualified scores or times in the Shoot-Out Round than there are places to be paid, the remaining places will be paid based on highest scores or fastest times in the Semi-Finals. If there are less than 4 contestants or teams with qualified scores or times in either the Shoot-Out Rounds and/or the Semi-Finals, ground money will be paid. NOTE: All money paid out (with the exception of ground money) at this rodeo will count towards PRCA Rookie Standing, PRCA World standings, All Around standings, and money won qualifications.
