Contestants are required to compete in the steer roping event at a minimum of 15 rodeos in the steer roping event for the money won at this event to count towards 2022 PRCA World Standings or the 2022 Rookie of the Year Standings. Money won at this event will not count towards All Around Standings. It will count towards Circuit Standings and the event will be applied to the contestant’s required circuit participation count. GROUND RULES: Contestants who choose to enter the Legacy Steer Roping event must be at least 50 years old at the time of entry closing or a permit member. They must also be entered in the steer roping event at the Yuma County Fair & Rodeo. To be eligible, the contestant must not have been an NFSR qualifier during the past 5 years. Permit members of all ages are eligible to enter. Contestants will pay an additional entry fee of $300. Contestants will not compete on any additional steers. The times that are recorded for the contestants’ competition runs at the Yuma County Fair & Rodeo will be used to determine the payoff. Payoff will only include the entry fees for the contestants who entered the Legacy Steer Roping through PROCOM. 6% will be held out of the total amount for the PRCA prior to the payoff. Only the three go-rounds and the average after three go-rounds will be included in the payoff for the Legacy Steer Roping. There will be no additional added money and since no additional animals will be run, there will be no additional stock charge or PROCOM charge. Money won in the Legacy Steer Roping will not count towards PRCA World Standings, circuit standings, All Around standings, or for money won qualifications. It will count towards qualifying for the Legacy Steer Roping Finals held in conjunction with the National Finals Steer Roping.
