THE FOLLOWING WILL BE EFFECTIVE FOR THE 2023/2024 SEASON The 2023 individual Circuit Finals Steer Roping events (Badlands, Columbia River, Montana, Mountain States, Prairie, Texas, Turquoise) and the 2023 National Circuit Finals Steer Roping will count toward the 2024 World Standings and qualifications. These events will be Official Entry Rodeos (contestant must designate unofficial). If a contestant has not met the required participation count it will be an automatic unofficial entry rodeo for that contestant and will not count toward 2024 World Standings or qualification rodeos. For any Steer Roping Circuit Finals Rodeo that occurs prior to the 2023 regular season cutoff date, money won at those circuit finals rodeos will count toward the 2023 World Standings and qualifica tions. In 2024, it will count toward the All-Around.

with the rodeo secretary in the “Show Office” and sign a release of liability before competing in this rodeo. ALL CONTESTANTS WITH HORSES - Must have proof of current Coggins test and current health papers. Health papers must be checked at the Stalling Office prior to unloading horses. All stalls will be available to contestants at $20 per night (includes one bag of shavings), beginning Tuesday, December 19th after 4:00 p.m., on a first come first served basis. Parking of contestant’s vehicles and horse trailers must be in area designated by the National Western Stock Show parking lot operator. PARKING - Parking of contestant’s vehicles and horse trailers must be in area designated by the National Western Stock Show parking lot operator. Contestants with trailers will enter the grounds through “Gate 7” off of Brighton Blvd. Gate 7 is on the left side of Brighton Blvd. when heading North past the Events Center. It is before the road curves at the light rail station. Contestants without trailers may park in parking lot “A” located near the front of
the Events Center on 47th avenue. The area behind the Events Center is for horse loading/unloading only. No trailers may park in this area. ALL CONTESTANTS - The 40 contestants or teams who entered and qualified for National Western Stock Show are not eligible to enter the qualifier. QUALIFICATIONS: TD - 145 minimum entries; FORMAT: 40 qualifying contestants or teams from the qualifier will be placed in the performances at the National Western Stock Show, along with the 40 contestants (or teams) already entered. The 40 qualifying contestants or teams will be top ten from the first go-round (plus splits), the top ten from the second go-round that have not already qualified from the first go-round (plus splits), and the remaining positions (not to exceed 40) will be filled from the fastest times in the average after the first and second go-rounds. If there are ties, the tied contestant (or team) with the single fastest time will advance to the performances at SW - 155 minimum entries; TR - 120 minimum entries.

See Rodeo Entry Information page of the business journal. ALL CONTESTANTS - Re-entries will be accepted for available positions on Tue., Dec. 26 between 9 AM and 11 AM. See Rodeo Entry Information page of the business journal. QUALIFICATIONS: BB, SB, BR - 20 minimum entries. 20% top circuit, 80% from top money (circuit positions will be filled first). No compensation. No slack. No exemptions. FORMAT: One go-round with a top 4 shoot-out round. CHECK-IN: The check-in deadline for alternates to be considered as “walk-up replacements” at this event is 1 hour prior to start of the event. ALL CONTESTANTS - If a contestant turns-out (notified or non-notified) or VIR’s he will be responsible to pay entry fees whether he is replaced or not. The alternate contestant will also be responsible to pay entry fees. STOCK DRAW: Stock will be drawn per the rulebook. The event will count towards the official rodeo count for any contestant that turns-out after stock callbacks, whether that contestant is replaced or not. RE-RIDES: After all replacements have been made, any remaining available animals that were notified as turned-out (includes DR’s and VIR’s) will be used prior to using the designated re-ride(s). PAY-OFF: BB, SB, BR : 6% of the total purse will be deducted prior to the pay-off. $5,000 will be held out for the shoot-out round. There will be no payoff for the average. The shoot-out round will pay two places, $3,000 for first place, and $2,000 for second place, based on highest scores in the shoot out round. If there are not 2 qualified scores in the shoot-out round, the remaining place(s) will be paid based on the highest scores in the first go-round. Only money paid out to a contestant without a qualified score in either go-round will be considered ground money. All other money paid out will count for PRCA World Standings. NOTE - In order for money won in this competition to count for the 2024 National Finals Rodeo or the 2024 Rookie of the Year standings, during the 2024 season, a contestant must have entered and competed at a minimum of forty (40) PRCA rodeos. In all events money won will not count for All Around standings. Money won at this event will not count for circuit standings nor will the event be applied to the contestants required circuit participation count. EXTENDED GRACE PERIOD - There will be an extended grace period for qualified contestants entered in the BB, SB & BR event to change preferences on Mon., Dec. 18th between 2pm and 5pm ALL CONTESTANTS - Each contestant will be given a back number which must be worn and/or displayed at all times while in competition area or backstage area. BB, SB, BR - Stock will be drawn at two separate times. The first draw (for the first 8 perfs) will be no later than 72 hours prior to the first performance. Additional re-ride pool of animals (set and approved by respective event representatives) to be used as needed. Each pool will consist of 4 animals per event. Additional animals must be added to the pool after each pool animal is used. Pool can be switched out at the stock contractor’s discretion (replacement animals set and approved by respective event representatives). QUALIFICATIONS: BB, SB, BR - 80 entries. No compensation. No slack. See R1.2.15 and R1.2.15.2. FORMAT - Two go-rounds, back-to-back, performance-to-performance, plus a semi-finals and a finals. Eight brackets with 10 contestants in each bracket, competing in two go-rounds, back-to-back, performance-to-performance, will account for the first 16 performances. The top three contestants from each bracket based on the average after the two go-rounds in each of the eight brackets will advance to the semi-finals. if ties result in more than three to advance from a bracket to the semi finals, the tied contestant with the single highest score will advance. If still tied, the tied contestant with the highest ranking in the 2023 PRCA World Standings in that respective event will advance. If there are less than 3 qualified scores in one or more of the brackets, the contestant with the highest score in his section of brackets who has not already qualified in the top 3 of his respective bracket will advance. This process will be repeated until all positions in the semi-finals are filled. The brackets will be divided into two sections. Section one includes brackets 1, 2, 3, and 4, and section two includes brackets 5, 6, 7, and 8. If there are less than 12 qualified rides in section one of the brackets or section two of the brackets, a random draw by the judges following the completion of each of the two sections will determine which contestants with no score will be advanced to the semi-finals to insure that there are 24 contestants to fill the semi-finals. The semi-finals will include 24 contestants competing in the 17th, 18th, and 19th performances (8 per performance) all occurring on Saturday, January 20. A contestant must compete in all go-rounds in order to advance to the semi-finals or the finals (does not include VIR’s and DR’s). The contestants for the three semi- finals performances will be placed as follows: A contestant will be allowed to trade with a contestant from the same bracket who is placed in a different semi-finals performances. If no contestants are eligible to replace the non-competing contestant within their same semi-final, their position will be filled by the contestant with the highest score from ANY semi final that has not already advanced. If there are no contestants eligible to replace the non-competing contestant from ANY semi-final, the position will be filled by the semi- final contestant with the single highest score in any performance that has not already advanced. If there are still no contestants able to replace the non- competing contestant from the single highest score, the position will be filled by the semi-final contestant with the highest ranking in the 2023 PRCA World Standing that has not already advanced. This replacement process will be repeated until all positions in the finals have been filled. ALL CONTESTANTS - No contestant will be held past his bracket unless it is due to an unavailable re-ride animal. PAYOFF: After the 6% is retained for the PRCA, 45% of the remaining amount will be allotted and split between the two long rounds (22.5% for each of the first two go-rounds). 30% will be allotted to the semi-finals (10% for each of the three semi finals performances) and will each pay 4 places. 25% will be allotted to the finals which will pay 8 places. There will be no average payoff. If there are less qualified rides in the semi-finals than there are places to be paid, ground money will be paid to contestants who did have a qualified ride (in accordance with R5.5.3). If there are less qualified rides in the finals than there are places to be paid, the remaining places will be paid to contestants with no score in the finals based on highest score in the semi-finals. All money paid out for the semi finals and the finals will count towards PRCA World Standings. ALL CONTESTANTS - The management reserves the right to refuse the competition of any contestant who has violated the general rules or has been dishonest in the competitions of the National Western Stock Show. If still tied, the tied contestant with the single highest score from the brackets will advance. If still tied, the tied contestant with the highest ranking in the 2023 PRCA World Standings in that respective event will advance. If there are less than 4 qualified scores in one or more of the semi-finals performances, the contestant with the next highest score from the other semi finals performances, who has not already qualified among the top 4 of his respective performance, will advance. If there are less than 12 qualified scores in the 3 semi-finals performances, the remaining positions in the finals (not to exceed 12) will be filled by the contestant with the highest score in the average from the two go-rounds in the brackets. If tied, the contestant with the single highest score from the brackets will advance. If still tied, the contestant with the highest ranking in the 2023 PRCA World Standings in that respective event, will advance. ALL EVENTS - If a contestant notifies a turn out, visible injury report, or doctor release through PROCOM, his position in the Semi-Finals will be filled by the contestant with the highest average score in the same bracket as the contestant that TO, VIR, or DR that has not already advanced into the Semi-Finals. The replacement contestant will be placed in the same semi-finals position & draw as the contestant that is no longer competing. If there are no contestants eligible to replace the non competing contestant within his same bracket, his position will be filled by the available contestant with the highest average score from ANY bracket that has not already advanced. If there are no contestants eligible to replace the non-competing contestant from ANY bracket based on the average, the position will be filled by the contestant with the single highest score in any bracket performance that has not already advanced. If there are still no contestants able to replace the non- competing contestant from the single highest score/fastest time, the position will be filled by the contestant with the highest ranking in the 2023 PRCA World Standing that has not already advanced.
