ALL CONTESTANTS - Any contestant who turns out of any round at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo or the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls Event without a valid doctor release or visible injury will not be eligible to continue competition, advance to the semi-finals or finals, nor enter the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in 2025. riders entered in the Rapid City rodeo will automatically be entered in the Horizon Permit Bareback Riding. There will be no additional entry fees for the permit bareback riders. The permit contestants will not compete on any additional animals. The scores recorded on the animal drawn for competition for the Rapid City rodeo will be used to determine the payoff for the Rapid City Horizon Permit Bareback Riding. The number of places paid and the percentages will be in accordance with the PRCA Rule Book. Money won in the Horizon Permit Bareback Riding event will count towards filling a permit, Circuit Standings, and “money won” qualifications. It will not count towards All Around and World Standings.

One go-round with the first and second place contestants each performance advancing to a bonus round during that same performance. If the first and/or second place contestant declines advancement to the bonus round, the contestant with the next highest score will advance (if the next highest score is tied, a flip of a coin will determine who advances). If there are 8 or less entries per performance at the time that the entries close, the committee has the option to cancel the event or have two go-rounds, back-to back, same performance. If two go-rounds, the number of entries accepted during the re-entry period will not exceed one half the original limit. PAY-OFF: The long go-round will be paid off per the rulebook. $1,000 per performance will be held out of the total purse for the bonus round(s). Winner takes all in the bonus round(s). There will be no pay-off for the average. If there are no qualified rides in an event in the bonus round, $500 (of the $1,000) will be added back to the pay-off for the long go-round, and $500 will be split between the two qualifiers for the bonus round and will be considered ground money. RE-RIDES - Re-rides and the re-ride order will be designated by the stock contractor. Any animal turned-out in a performance will automatically become the first re-ride prior to using the designated re-rides. If more than one animal is turned-out in a performance, a random draw will determine which animal will be the first re-ride. The bonus round stock will be designated by the stock contractor. NOTE: In order for money won at this event to count for qualifying for the 2024 National Finals Rodeo or the 2024 Rookie of the Year Standings, a contestant must have entered and competed at a minimum of forty (40) PRCA rodeos during the 2024 rodeo year. Money won at this event will not count for All Around Standings, circuit standings, nor will the event be applied to a contestants’ required circuit participation count. STK.
