ELLENSBURG, WASH.: AUG. 30-SEPT. 2 The Ellensburg Rodeo is hosting a concert in the arena Thursday, Aug. 29, at 8 p.m. featuring Russell Dickerson and Whey Jen- nings. The secretary and ticket office will have discounted tickets available to contestants for $20. Contestants are invited to visit the “Cowboy Bistro,” by the arena, behind the tractor display. There will be a closed-circuit TV in the bistro area. Anderson Hay and Grain will give each PRCA competitor a couple bales of hay. Competitors will receive a voucher for the hay when checking in with the secretary. A Children’s Activity Corral will be open at the WestStar Roping on Wednesday afternoon. The committee invites all contestants to sign autographs for fans at the Fan Zone, which will be set up outside the Justin Sportsmedicine trailer and will be open throughout each performance. Please, stop by when you have a chance to sign autographs for a few minutes. Boxed lunches and beverages will be provided. “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” day is Sunday, Sept. 1. AMARILLO, TEXAS: SEPT. 18-21 The Amarillo Tri-State Fair & Rodeo is co-approved with the Tur- quoise and Prairie circuits. The schedule is as follows: Wednesday, Sept. 18-9 a.m. barrel racing followed by steer roping. Thursday, Sept. 19-8 a.m. slack events-team roping, steer wrestling and tie down roping. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. The Cowboy Corral will have breakfast and lunch Wednesday. Three meals Thursday and an evening meal Friday and Saturday. Free stalls for rodeo contestants are available on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at noon on Sept. 17. Stall shavings are available for purchase on the grounds. Saturday night is TETWP night-bonus money for event winners wearing pink.

KANSAS CITY, MO.: SEPT. 27-28 Kansas City’s American Royal Pro Rodeo will be celebrating its 70th year. As in the past, free hospitality with food and refresh- ments from Kansas City’s finest BBQ grilling crew before and after each performance will be provided. Stalls are free, and onsite feed store will have shavings, hay or feed available for purchase. There are free showers and towels available in the on-site locker rooms for contestant use. Free electrical hookups for contestant trailer or RVs are available. A help desk will be set up outside the secretary’s office where contestants can pick up a gift bag including various gifts, coupons, a free boot shine and free admission to the tailgate party after the rodeo featuring a live band. Justin Sportsmedicine will be on site to assist before and after each performance. The American Royal looks forward to seeing you during the last quali- fying weekend. More information at http://www.americanroyal. The San Bernardino Sheriff ’s Rodeo is offering $68,750 in added money, including even money in team roping. Friday, Sept 27, is Man Up Crusade Night, Saturday, Sept. 28 is TETWP, so break out pink and purple shirts to support these causes. Sunday, Sept. 29 is Wrangler National Patriot Night., so wear blue or red shirts. Complimentary contestant meals will again be offered. At least three additional PRCA rodeos are within driving distance, making it the most lucrative area to rodeo on the final weekend of the season.
