See Rodeo Entry Information page of the business journal. QUALIFICATIONS: BB, SB, BR - 12 minimum entries. No compensation. No slack. (See R1.2.15, R1.2.15.1, and R1.2.15.2). One go-round with the first and second place contestants each performance advancing to a bonus round during that same performance. If the first and/or second place contestant declines advancement to the bonus round, the contestant with the next highest score will advance, (if the next highest score is tied, a flip of the coin will determine who advances). If there are 8 or less entries per performance at the time that the enters close, the committee has the option to cancel the event or have two go-rounds, back-to-back, same performance. If two go-rounds, the number of entries accepted during the re-entry period will not exceed one half of the original limit. PAY-OFF: The long go-round will be paid off per the rulebook. $1,000 per performance will be held out of the total purse for the bonus round(s). Winner takes all in the bonus round(s). There will be no pay-off for the average. If there are not qualified rides in an event in the bonus round, $500 (of the $1,000) will be added back to the pay-off for the long go-round, and $500 will be split between the two qualifiers for the bonus round. RE-RIDES - Re-rides and the re-ride order will be designated by the stock contractor. Any animal turned-out in a performance will automatically become the first re-ride prior to sing the designated re-rides. If more than one animal is turned-out in a performance, a random draw will determine which animal will be the first re-ride. The bonus round stock will be designated by the stock contractor. NOTE: In order for money won at this event to count for qualifying for the 2024 National Finals Rodeo or the 2024 Rookie of the Year Standings, a contestant must have entered and competed at a minimum of forty (40) PRCA rodeos during the 2024 rodeo year. GROUND RULES: Contestants who choose to enter the Legacy Steer Roping event must be at least 50 years old or a permit holder at the time of entry closing. They must also be entered in the steer roping event at the Andrews County Pro Rodeo. To be eligible, the contestant must not have been an NFSR qualifier during the past five years. Permit members of all ages will also be eligible to enter. Contestants will pay entry fees of $300. Contestants will not compete on any additional steers. The times that are recorded for the contestants’ competition runs at the Andrews County Pro Rodeo will be used to determine the pay-off. Pay-off will only include the entry fees for the contestants who entered the Legacy Steer Roping through PROCOM. 6% will be held out of the total amount for the PRCA prior to the pay-off. Only the four go-rounds and the average after four go-rounds will be included in the pay-off for the Legacy Steer Roping. There will be no additional added money and since no additional animals will be run, there will be no additional stock charge or PROCOM charge. Money won in the Legacy Steer Roping will not count towards PRCA World Standings, circuit standings, All Around standings, or for money won qualifications. It will count towards qualifying for the Legacy Steer Roping Finals held in conjunction with the National Finals Steer Roping.
