PRCA Business Journal - March 5, 2021

GRACE PERIOD: Will expire one hour after entries close. QUALIFICATIONS: 30 entries will be accepted for the Riggin Rally on Saturday, April 3 and a minimum of 40 entries will be accepted for the Qualifying Performance on Friday, April 2. The top 24, who enter, based on 2020 PRCA World Standings will be accepted as entries for the Riggin Rally on April 3 (no exemptions). A minimum of 40 entries (also based on 2020 PRCA World Standings) will be accepted for the Qualifying Performance on Friday, April 2. The top 6 from the Qualifying Performance on April 2 will advance to the Riggin Rally on April 3. FORMAT for the Qualifying Performance on Friday, April 2 : One go-round with the top 6 advancing to the Riggin Rally on Saturday, April 3. If ties result in more than 6 to advance, a random draw of the tied contestants by the judges will determine who advances. If there are less than 25 entries, the top 12 from the first go-round will compete on a second animal and the top 6 in the average from the 1st go-round and the top 12 go- round will advance to the Riggin Rally on April 3. FORMAT for the RIGGIN RALLY on Saturday, April 3 : One go-round and a Finals. The 30 contestants will be drawn into three sections with 10 contestants in each section. The top four contestants from each section for a total 12 will advance to the Finals. Splits in the sections will be accepted to advance to the finals not to exceed 14. If splits result in more than 14, the split with the lowest score will be excluded. STOCK DRAW: Contestants will be placed in three sections with 10 contestants in each section. Contestants based on their rankings in the 2020 World Standings will be placed in the sections as follows: Section One: 1, 6, 7, 12, 13, 18, 19, 24, and 1st and 4th from the Qualifying Perf. Section Two: 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, and 2nd and 5th from the Qualifying Perf. Section Three: 3, 4, 9, 10, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 3rd and 6th from the Qualifying Perf. Contestants rankings will be dependent on the contestants who entered. For example, if the contestant who was ranked 1st in the standings does not enter and the contestant who was ranked 2nd in the standings does enter, the contestant who is ranked 2nd in the standings fills the #1 position since he was the highest ranked of the contestants who actually entered. Pens of horses will be set by the committee/stock contractor for each section in order and contestants will be drawn to the animals in that order by PROCOM. Re-rides will be designated by the committee/stock contractor. ENTRY FEES : $250 (plus $35 supplemental fee) for the 24 contestants who are originally accepted as entries for the Riggin Rally. $100 (plus $35 supplemental fee) for the contestants who are accepted for the Qualifying Performance. PAYOFF for the Qualifying Performance on Friday, April 2: $2,500 (added purse) plus $4,000 entry fees (40 contestants times $100 entry fees) equals $6,500 minus $390 (6% to the PRCA) equals $6,110 to be included in the payout.
