PRCA Business Journal - May 12, 2023

2022 California Circuit Finals Average Winner will be accepted. The remaining 22 positions will be filled based on PRCA World Standings. 60% from 2022 World Standings and 40% from 2023 World Standings as of 7 days prior to entry closing. FORMAT - There will be 4 brackets with 6 contestants in each bracket. Horses will be placed in each bracket by the event representative and a re-ride will be designated for each bracket. At 12:30 PM on the day of the event, the contestants will draw for positions 1-24 (1-6 will be the 1st bracket, 7-12 the 2nd bracket, 13-18 the 3rd bracket, and 19-24 the 4th bracket). Contestants will receive the animals that have already been designated for their corresponding drawn positions. The first-place winner of each bracket will advance to the Finals, for a total of 4 contestants. If there is a tie for 1st place within a bracket, a random draw by the judges will determine which contestant advances. If there are no qualified rides in a bracket, the contestant with the next highest score from the other brackets, who is not already advancing, will advance to the Finals. If there is a tie for the next highest score, a random draw will determine which of the tied contestants advances. PAYOFF - There will be $4,878 allotted to each of the 4 brackets (this amount may vary due to doctors released contestants who are not replaced or if less contestants than the limit enter the event). Each bracket will pay two places, 67% for first place, and 33% for second place. If there are no qualified scores within a bracket, the $4,878 allotted for 1st place will be divided evenly among the other contestants in that bracket and will be considered ground money. There will be $32,000 allotted to the Finals. The Finals will pay 4 places: $12,800 for 1st place; $9,600 for 2nd place; $6,400 for 3rd; and $3,200 for 4th. If there are less qualified scores in the finals than there are places to be paid, the remaining places will be paid based on highest scores in the first go-round. If there are no qualified rides in the Finals, all places will be paid based on highest scores in the first round. NOTE - All money paid out at this event (except for any ground money in the brackets) will count towards 2023 PRCA World Standings, 2023 XBroncs Standings, and the 2023 PRCA Rookie of the Year Standings as long as the contestant entered and competed at a minimum of 40 PRCA rodeos during the 2023 rodeo year. Money won at this event will not count towards All Around or Circuit Standings nor will the event be applied to a contestants required circuit participation count. STK.
