Failure to check in will result in that contestant being replaced by the next available alternate. “Walk Up” replacements will be accepted (see Entry Information section of the Business Journal for details.) The check in deadline for “Walk Up” replacements will be at 12:00 PM on May 22. QUALIFICATIONS - 20 entries. The top 10 who enter based on 2020 PRCA World Standings, the top 8 who enter based on 2021 PRCA World Standings (as of 7 days prior to entry closing) the 2020 California Circuit Saddle Bronc Champion, and the 2020 California Circuit Finals Saddle Bronc Average Winner. FORMAT - There will be 4 brackets with 5 contestants in each bracket. Horses will be placed in each bracket by the event representative and a re-ride will be designated for each bracket. At 12:30 PM on the day of the event, the contestants will draw for positions 1-20 (1-5 will be the 1st bracket, 6-10 the 2nd bracket, 11-15 the 3rd bracket, and 16-20 the 4th bracket.) Contestants will receive the animals that have already been designated for their corresponding drawn positions. The first place winner of each bracket will advance to the Finals, for a total of 4 contestants. If there is a tie for 1st place within a bracket, a random draw by the judges will determine which contestant advances. If there are no qualified rides in a bracket, the contestant with the next highest score from the other brackets, who is not already advancing, will advance to the Finals. PAYOFF - There will be $5,000 allotted to each of the four brackets. Each bracket will pay two places: $3,000 for 1st place and $2,000 for 2nd place. If there is only one qualified score within a bracket, the $2,000 allotted for 2nd place will be divided evenly among the other four contestants in that bracket and will be considered ground money. There will be $30,000 allotted to the Finals. The Finals will pay two places: $20,000 for 1st place and $10,000 for 2nd place. If there is only one qualified score in the Finals, the $10,000 allotted for 2nd place will be paid to the contestant who qualified for the Finals and had the highest score in the first round. If there are no qualified rides in the Finals, 1st and 2nd places will be paid bases on highest scores in the first round. NOTE - All money paid out at this event (except for any ground money in the brackets) will count towards 2021 PRCA World Standings and the 2021 PRCA Rookie of the Year Standings as long as the contestant entered and competed at a minimum of 40 PRCA rodeos during the 2021 rodeo year. LEGACY STEER ROPING CLAREMORE OK NPP MAY 26 CLAREMORE LEGACY STEER ROPING ARENA: Claremore Stampede Arena ADDRESS: 13601 E 480 Rd PERFS: 1 Perf: May 26- 7:00 PM EVENTS: SR @ $1 PERMITS: None GROUND RULES: Contestants who choose to enter the Legacy Steer Roping event must be at least 50 years old at the time of entry closing. They must also be entered in the Stand Alone Steer Roping event at the John Perry Wickett Memorial. To be eligible, the contestant must be a card member (no permits). Contestants will pay entry fees of $300. Contestants will not compete on any additional steers. The times that are recorded for the contestants’ competition runs at the John Perry Wickett Memorial will be used to determine the pay-off. Pay-off will only include the entry fees for the contestants who entered the Legacy Steer Roping through PROCOM. 6% will be held out of the total amount for the PRCA prior to the pay-off. Only the three go- rounds and the average after three go- rounds will be included in the pay- off for the Legacy Steer Roping. There will be no additional added money and since no additional animals will be run, there will be no additional stock charge or PROCOM charge. Money won in the Legacy Steer Roping will not count towards PRCA World Standings, circuit standings, All Around standings, or for money won qualifications. It will count towards qualifying for the Legacy Steer Roping Finals held in conjunction with the National Finals Steer Roping. (NFSR qualifiers will not be eligible for the Legacy Steer Roping Finals).
