If there are still open positions, all remaining openings will be filled by a random draw of permit holders. **CPRA Standing as of June 1, 2023 will be used ahead of 2022 standings to fill positions** RE-ENTRIES - If needed, re-entries will be accepted for available positions 48 hours after entries close from 8 am - 2 pm. See rodeo entry information on rodeo schedule. A contestant that re-enters will not be placed in a position that conflicts with his position at another association rodeo or event. ALTERNATE PROCEDURE - Contestants who have originally entered and were eligible at time of entry but were drawn out due to qualifications will be added to an alternate list. Contestants drawn out will be numbered as drawn out (ie. 1st drawn out will be number 1, 2nd drawn out will be number 2, and so on). This will be the order of the alternate contestants. Contestants will be notified of their alternate position number at call back at which time they must provide their contact information to be eligible. These contestants will be notified of any turn-outs or doctor releases and be given the option of re-entry up to the 24 hours prior to the rodeo turn out deadline. If stock has already been drawn in the rough stock from a pool of animals consisting of all turned out stock for that performance and all re-ride stock for that performance. MEDICAL EXPEMPTION - Consideration will be given to those members who were unable to compete at any rodeos after July 1, 2022 due to injuries. A letter on doctor’s letterhead must be submitted to the CRES office prior to entries opening, this letter must detail the time frame in which contestant was unable to compete. Injury information must be given to CRES at the time of entry. PLEASE NOTE - Section VII A. 1 & 3 and Section VIII A 13 of the CPRA RULE BOOK will be strictly enforced by the Pro Rodeo Officials. FINALS - $5,000 will be held out in each of the major events for the finals. Four (4) monies will be paid in the finals. Split 40-30-20-10. TD, SW, TR - Top twelve (12), if a tie exists, it will be broken by the fastest time on any one head. If still tied, the tie will be broken by the second fastest time on any one head. If still tied the Canadian Standings as of June 22, 2023 will be the tie breaker. SB, BB, BR - Top twelve (12), if a tie exists, it will be broken by going back to judge’s card, the high mark contestant on the cowboy spur ride will break the tie. If still tied the Canadian Standings as of June 22, 2023 will be the tie breaker. TURNING OUT FINALS - Contestants who turn-out of the Finals must notify the local Rodeo Office by Saturday July 2 no later than 6 PM MST. A $500 turn-out fine will apply if the contestant fails to notify by the specified time. Contestants who are a notified turn-out or contestants who are unavailable at the start of the section of their event will be replaced by the next available contestant; next is defined by the 2023 Ponoka Stampede standings. Ponoka Stampede reserves the right to roll contestants into the Finals (to total of 12 contestants) in the event of turn outs. In case of ties between 13-14 etc., tie breaker rules to decide the next contestant into the finals, the procedure
will be the same as determining the top twelve (12) qualifiers. SHOWDOWN FORMAT - Cowboy Rule - Must make a qualified ride or run to be paid. No GROUND MONEY WILL BE PAID. All monies paid in the SHOWDOWN will count towards CPRA/PRCA/ WPRA standings. In the event no qualified rides/ times in the showdown there will no payout and the average winner will be the Stampede Champion. No times or score will be carried into the Showdown. All stock will be selected by the event reps and the committee. Order of competition will be fourth (4th) to first (1st), timed events must be split so as no back to back runs on the same horse. Top four (4) contestants, maximum of four (4), from the average of the rodeo will compete in the Showdown. If not enough qualified rides/runs for the Showdown, the highest score taken to the Finals will qualify (also includes injuries). PRIZE MONEY - TBD, held out per event for the Showdown split as follows: Four (4) Qualified Rides/Runs: 1st - 50%, 2nd - 25%, 3rd - 15%, 4th - 10% Three (3) Qualified Rides/Runs: 1st - 55%, 2nd - 28%, 3rd - 17%. Two (2) Qualified Rides/ Runs: 1st - 65%, 2nd - 35% One (1) Qualified Ride/ Run: 1st - 100% TIE BREAKER FORMAT TO QUALIFY FOR SHOWDOWN - SB, BB, BR - Highest score on the Finals will break ties. If a tie still exists the contestant with the highest score in the first (1st) go- round will break the tie. If a tie still exists, the contestant with the most money won in previous go-rounds on two (2) head will advance. If a tie still exists, the Canadian Standings as of June 22, 2023 will be used. TD, SW, TR - Fastest time in the Finals will break ties. If a ties still exists the fastest time in the first (1st) go- round will break the tie. SHOWDOWN TIE BREAKERS - All tie breakers are based on qualified rides and times only. If a tie exists after the showdown contestants have competed once, there will be either a ride off or run off (depending on the event) between the tied contestants to determine the Champion. In rough stock events, if a ride off is required, any animals that were drawn as re-rides for the Finals and were no used will automatically be the ride-off animals. In timed events, if a run off is required, the designated spares will be used as the tie breaker animals. If a tie still exists after a ride off/run off,

TR - Both team ropers will come out of the same box; which is the tie down roping and steer hazing side. SCORELINES : TD - 20’; SW - 17’6”; TR - 21’; box length 23’. SW - If there are not enough contestants in the current year circuit money category to fill the allotted circuit positions, the remaining positions will be filled with contestants from the previous year circuit money won category . SR - Three go-rounds all run in slack Wed., June 28 at 9 AM. Hand pulled barrier may be used. Stock charge $60 per go-round. Extras will be used to replace sick or injured animals (the misdraw procedure will not be used). TE - Two go-rounds, back-to-back. Performance to slack after the performance (or slack after to slack after if needed) for the contestants placed on June 28 through June 30 and July 2 and 3. For the contestants placed on July 1st the first go-round for these contestants will be during the performance at 1:30 PM and their second go-round will be at 7:30 PM that night. For the contestants placed on July 4th, the first go-round for these contestants will be run during slack at 10 AM that morning and the second go-round will be run during the performance at 1:30 PM that day.
