See Rodeo Entry Information section of the business journal. ALL EVENTS - Re-entries will be accepted for available positions on Mon., Dec. 18 between 9 AM and 12 PM. Contestants who enter during the re- entry period and are not placed in an available position will be placed on the alternate list that was established after the original entries closed on November 22. These alternate contestants will be placed on the list in order based on 2023 PRCA World Standings. ALL EVENTS - The alternate list will be based on 2023 PRCA World Standings. QUALIFICATIONS: BB, SB, BR - 20 minimum entries. No compensation. No slack. The top two in the 2023 Montana Circuit Standings will be accepted first, if they enter. The PRCA Rookie of the Year in each event (BB, SB, BR) will be accepted next. Any remaining positions, not to exceed 20, will be filled based on 2023 PRCA World Standings. No exemptions. FORMAT - One go-round. STOCK DRAW: Stock will be drawn on site at 10 AM on morning of the event. The event representatives for each event will be allowed to screen the stock included in the draw. PAY-OFF - Will pay 8 places. The 6% of the total purse for the PRCA will not be deducted from the purse. The committee will be billed separately for that amount. ALL EVENTS - Four judges will be used in the arena for scoring the contest. And two additional judges will be used on the back of the chutes. NOTE - Money won at this event will count towards 2024 PRCA World Standings and the PRCA Rookie of the Year Standings as long as the contestant enters and competes at a minimum of forty (40) PRCA rodeos during the 2024 rodeo year. All stalls will be available to contestants at $20 per night (includes one bag of shavings), beginning Tuesday, December 19th after 4:00 p.m., on a first come first served basis. Parking of contestant’s vehicles and horse trailers must be in area designated by the National Western Stock Show parking lot operator. Contestants with trailers will enter the grounds through “Gate 7” off of Brighton Blvd. Gate 7 is on the left side of Brighton Blvd. when heading North past the Events Center. It is before the road curves at the light rail station. Contestants without trailers may park in parking lot “A” located near the front of the Events Center on 47th avenue. The area behind the Events Center is for horse loading/unloading only. No tailers may park in this area. ALL CONTESTANTS - The 40 contestants or teams who entered and qualified for National Western Stock Show are not eligible to enter the qualifier. QUALIFICATIONS : TD - 145 minimum entries FORMAT: 40 qualifying contestants or teams from the qualifier will be placed in the performances at the National Western Stock Show, along with the 40 contestants (or teams) already entered. The 40 qualifying contestants or teams will be top ten from the first go-round (plus splits), the top ten from the second go-round that have not already qualified from the first go-round (plus splits), and the remaining positions (not to exceed 40) will be filled from the fastest times in the average after the first and second go-rounds. If there are ties, the tied contestant (or team) with the single fastest time will advance to the performances at the National Western Rodeo. If still tied, the tied contestant with the highest ranking in the 2023 PRCA World Standings for that event will advance. All 80 contestants (or teams) that qualify for the Denver National Western Rodeo will have a grace period to change preferences and/or buddy groups on Tues., Jan. 2 between 8:30 AM and 12 PM. For a contestant to advance from the qualifier to the rodeo, his 2024 membership renewal must be current by Tues., December 26 at 2 PM. TD, SW, TR - Two go-rounds. The first go-round will be run on Thurs., Dec. 21, 2023 at 8 AM. The second go-round will be run on Fri., Dec. 22, 2023 at 8 AM at the National Western Events Center located at 1515 E. 47th Avenue, Denver, CO. TD - There will be a disqualification for a jerk down as long as criteria are in compliance with the jerk down policy. TR - Only two loops allowed. TD, SW - $30 stock charge for cards and permits. TR - $15 stock charge per man for cards and permits. TE - The qualifier and the National Western Rodeo performances will each count as separate rodeos. All entries are official, unless contestant specifies otherwise at time of entry. TD, SW, TR - Payoff will be in accordance with the rule book. STK.
