2024 WRANGLER NFR ANNOUNCERS

Wayne Brooks Brooks is making his 13th appearance at the NFR, and second in a row. Brooks has announced at the NFR in 2001, 2006, 2013-2019, 2021, 2022 and 2024. Brooks has been selected as the PRCA Announcer of the year in 2005, 2010, 2013-14, and 2016. “It’s exciting, it’s nerve-wracking, it’s exhausting, it’s everything you expect at an event of that magnitude, with that number of people in the audience, that caliber of contestants, and that much money involved,” said Brooks about announcing at the NFR. “It is the crown jewel of our industry.” For years, he has announced some of the biggest rodeos on the PRCA California Rodeo Salinas, Reno (Nev.), Rodeo Austin (Texas), Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up and the Calgary Stampede. Roger Mooney The ultra-talented and accomplished Mooney will be making his ninth appearance at the NFR in 2025. “I truly believe that this rodeo (the NFR) is the greatest rodeo on the planet, and there’s a reason for that. It’s the best cowboys, it’s in the city of entertainment, it’s the greatest fans in the world, and the most beautiful people in rodeo come to Las Vegas,” Mooney stated. He has been a professional rodeo announcer for more than 30 years. He and his wife Ashley have a son, Cash, and a daughter, Morgan. Mooney said he puts in hundreds of hours of preparation to announce at the NFR. “It’s just amazing,” he said. “The last time, I think I was going 20-21 hours a day. You get a little nap and then you’re back out. And if things don’t go well, it could be 24 hours a day.” Anthony Lucia Lucia, the two-time PRCA Announcer of the Year in 2023 and 2024, will be making his NFR debut in 2025. Lucia has a long-storied family history in the PRCA. His father is ProRodeo Hall of Famer Tommy Lucia, who is famous for his specialty act Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey. Anthony worked as a contestant, specialty act performer and announcer. Originally from Weatherford, Texas, Anthony Lucia’s name is synonymous with the exhilarating world of rodeo entertainment. Whether dazzling crowds with his trick roping skills at iconic events like the National Finals Rodeo and the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Lucia’s journey wasn’t without its challenges. Finding his distinct voice as an announcer took time and guidance, including a pivotal moment of advice from legendary entertainer Lecile Harris. Today, Anthony’s high-energy performances and rock-and-roll vibe captivate audiences, embodying the spirit of rodeo entertainment. “I’m beyond grateful and beyond thankful,” Lucia said. “It is the greatest sport in the world, that’s professional rodeo and to have the opportunity to be one of the announcers at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is mind-blowing and I can’t wait.”
