KIRSTEN VOLD National Finals Rodeo from 1959-2024. At 25 years old, Kirsten began to take over the company. In 2017, when Harry passed away, she inherited his PRCA membership card and the company, changing its name in the process. With Harry and Kirsten leading the way, the fami ly company was named the Stock Contractor of the Year 11 times. Harry was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1996 and received the Legend of PRORODEO Award in 2009. He was also named the recipient of the Remuda Award for stock contractor in 2013. Dating back to 1976, stock from the Vold Rodeo Com pany received yearly honors from the PRCA. Most recently, Painted Valley was named Saddle Bronc of the Year in 2010. "It's fed me my entire life," Kirsten said of PRORODEO. "It put a roof over my head, braces on my teeth and got me through college. I'm grateful for what rodeo has done for me and I'll never regret it." While the Kirsten Vold Rodeo Company will be no more, the family ranch in Southern Col orado will remain intact. And she isn't ruling out a different career path soon. "I'm still keeping my stud and a handful of mares," Kirsten said. "So maybe in about four years I'll play around and go into some (horse training)."

Three Vegas NFR Icons will be honored at the 2025 Wrangler National Finals Ro deo in Las Vegas. This distinguished list of Vegas NFR Icons includes contributors Benny Binion and Shawn Davis, as well as seven-time PRCA World Champion Dan Mortensen. The 40th Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas will run from Thursday, Dec. 4 through Sat urday, Dec. 13. During the Dec. 5 and 6 performances, each of the Vegas NFR Icons will be honored on the hallowed dirt of the Thomas & Mack Center. The presentation will include each receiving a commemorative bronze statue and a ceremony to unfurl a banner in the rafters. The in-arena schedule for the icons is as follows: Dan Mortensen, Friday, Dec. 5; Benny Binion and Shawn Davis, Saturday, Dec. 6. "As we are celebrating 40 years of the NFR in our city, it seems only appropriate to honor two individuals that were instrumental in bringing the rodeo to Las Vegas, along with a great rodeo champion in Dan Mortensen," said LVE President Tim Keener. "Las Vegas Events and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association are committed to continually recognizing the legends who have defined what it means to be a champion, as well as those who laid the groundwork for our incredible 40 year run in Las Vegas. We're proud to continue to grow this program in Las Vegas by honoring the history and legacy of the NFR's great champions and contributors." For each icon, LVE will develop a promotional campaign to promote the three legends and build a daily activation calendar to build anticipation for the ceremony inside the Thomas & Mack Center that evening. In addition to the banner ceremony during the second and third Wrangler NFR performances, several events are planned for the Icons, including appearances at Cowboy Christmas presented by Pro Fantasy Rodeo.
