BRADLEE MILLER WINS BIG AT RODEO OF THE OZARKS BY TIERNEY MYERS, SPECIAL TO PRORODEO SPORTS NEWS B radlee Miller matched up against Cervi Champion ship Rodeo’s Pearl Harbor for an 88-point ride and the win at the Rodeo of The Ozarks in Springdale, Ark, which concluded June 27. “Pearl Harbor was one of the horses to have for sure,” Miller said. “When I saw what I drew, I knew I was going to have a good chance.” Several heavy rainstorms hit Springdale this week, which made for a very muddy rodeo arena. While the steer wrestlers may not have been excited to go play in the several inches of mud, Miller said the wet arena actually helped some of the bucking horses score high er than they typically might. “Some horses just really like the mud,” Miller said. “For horses that like to travel and use a lot more of the arena, the mud slows them down a little bit and makes them buck in front of the judges the way we like them to.” Miller, who entered Springdale as the No. 2 ranked bareback rider in the PRCA | Bill Fick Ford World Standings, has been rapidly closing in on Rocker Steiner, who is ranked No. 1. With Steiner sidelined for likely the entire summer run with a neck injury, Miller moved to the top of the world standings with $129,254, thanks to his $7,015 payday in Springda le. “The last couple of weeks were really slow,”

Miller said. “Ever since Rocker got hurt (Steiner had surgery in early June), I haven’t won hardly anything. Then, I was able to get over him this week, but I just wish he was still out here going. Winning just doesn’t feel like winning whenever all the players aren’t there.” Miller had a remarkable start to his season,
