with more than $30,000 won just by the end of January. He continued through the winter rodeos with a sec ond-place finish at RodeoHouston and won Rodeo Austin (Texas) just a few weeks later. Now the summer run is in full swing, and Miller said he’s feeling good and ready for the upcoming rodeos. “We get on a lot of bucking horses in a short amount of time, and normally the person who’s the healthiest at the end is the one who wins the most,” Miller said. “At this point last year, I was already back at home with a torn groin, so it’s sure nice to go through the summer this year feeling healthy.” Though he had some success at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo the past two years, Miller has yet to win a coveted gold buckle. This year, with the way Miller has performed, his odds of obtaining his first world champion ship continue to look better.

“A gold buckle has always been a dream of mine, but it seemed more of a pipe dream than something that could be a reality,” Miller said. “At the 2024 NFR, I got my first taste of what a gold buckle might be like. In Round 10. I feel like I let myself down, so this year is kind of a redemp tion for me.” Other winners at the PRORODEO Playoff Series rodeo were ALL-AROUND COWBOY JAKE SHELTON ($1,483 won in tie-down roping and steer wrestling); STEER WRES TLERS KYLE IRWIN and MARC JOINER (4.6 seconds each); TEAM ROPERS BRENTEN HALL AND WYATT COX (4.5 sec onds); SADDLE BRONC RIDER SAGE NEWMAN (87 points); TIE-DOWN ROPER COLE CLEMONS (9.0 seconds); BARREL RACER ANDREA BUSBY (15.83 seconds); BREAKAWAY ROP ER SAGE DUNLAPP (2.3 seconds); and BULL RIDER TRISTAN MIZE (88 points).
