CELEBRATING THE PRCA’S 90TH ANNIVERSARY

“My greatest rodeo memory is after Round 10 last year at the (NFR). I had sewn up the average, and knowing I had sewn up the average meant I had sewn up the world. All the bulldoggers were all hugging me, and then I’d seen Luke (Branquinho) in the hallway, and it all kind of came full circle. I started practicing with him when I was 15. He taught me everything I know, and I always wanted to be like him and be a champ. For that to happen, that was super cool, and then for him to tell me how proud he was of me was super cool, too. “My favorite memory is when I won The American (in 2020). Not a lot of people have done it, and it’s a pretty good deal. The money’s great. (That year, earnings from The American counted toward the PRCA World Standings.) That was probably one of the best years of my life. I had a great year riding broncs, but it was a hard year, especially on the rodeos and the committees. A lot of them stuck through it. I got to spend a lot of time at home. That win in Arlington gave us financial peace and all that good stuff a lot of rodeo cowboys don’t get.”
