KITSAP STAMPEDE BAREBACK WIN HIGHLIGHTS MONSTER WEEKEND FOR JESS POPE

T he moment he saw his matchup on the Kitsap Stam pede daysheet, bareback rider Jess Pope knew he had an opportunity for a big day. Pope was matched up with Korkow Rodeo’s Tater Tot, an up-and-comer in PRORODEO which made its first appear ance at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo last season. The result favored Pope, who had an 87.5-point ride to take the win at the Kitsap Stampede, adding to the earn

ings he collected at the Horse Heaven Roundup in Kenne wick, Wash., Aug. 23. "I look at bareback riding as I've just got to show up and do my job. I put the time in at home, I don't take no for an answer and I'm trying to strive for perfection," Pope said. "I've been feeling really good this whole year and doing well at the right places. I'm in a lot better position than I was last year."
