DYLAN TERRO ON ROAD TO RECOVERY AFTER CHEYENNE ROUGHSTOCK GATE ACCIDENT By Zach Alvira
T he condition of Dylan Terro, who was kicked in the chest while working the roughstock gate at Cheyenne Frontier Days on July 25, is improving, according to Smith Pro Rodeos General Manager Cody Kidd. But the road to recovery remains long. "He's making major improvements," Kidd told the PRORODEO Sports News. "Doctors are pleased with everything he's doing so far and the progress he's made since the acci dent happened. Don't get me wrong, he still has a lot to go through as far as his chest, his ribs and the other injuries that weren't as extensive at the time." Terro, who works for Smith Pro Rode os, was tended to by multiple doctors
on the dirt following the accident July 25 during the semifinal rounds. He was taken by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he was initially given grim odds of over coming the injury. The main concern was Terro's heart, as the blow from the horse caused serious trauma and broke several ribs. Machines assisted his breathing and heart in the early days following the injury. But he has remained stable during the short periods of time the machines were turned off. The PRORODEO community has shown support for Terro and his fam ily, with over $30,000 raised for him in the Cheyenne Frontier Days 50/50 raffle during the rodeo.
A Venmo account has been set up by Dylan's wife, Jolie, for donations: @ Jolie-Boudreaux-1. The last four digits of her phone number are 2990. Cards and checks can be sent to the following address: DYLAN TERRO C/O VERABANK 105 HWY 31 E. PO BOX 127 CHANDLER, TEXAS 75758 "It's amazing to see the support," Kidd said. "People are waiting to help and give, it's overwhelming to be honest. There are so many people out there wanting to help and people doing something every day to help."
