POSITIVE TIMES OF PRORODEO PRESENTED BY AMERICAN HATS: NFR BULL FIGHTER DUSTY TUCKNESS STAYING FAITHFUL TO PROCESS By Skylar Smith, American Hat Company

D usty Tuckness lives by a simple yet powerful truth: You get out what you put in. A 10-time PRCA Bullfighter of the Year, Tuck ness sets the standard through relentless preparation, mental toughness and a faith that grounds everything he does. His success isn’t built on talent alone, but on countless unseen hours studying tape, training his body and sharpening his mind – all to protect cowboys and perform at his best when it matters most. Tuckness’ dedication to his craft is mirrored in his dai ly life. He believes that growth happens when you lean into the hard stuff and when you choose to stay faithful in the process rather than focus only on the outcome. That mindset has guided him through challenges both in and out of the arena. “Over the last few months there’s been a lot of great times and positive things to be grateful for,” Tuckness said. “One recent one that comes to mind is I raced in my first 50k trail ultra marathon. The time and prep it took to be able to complete the task was amazing. And to top it off, some family friends made it a point to be there and support me. “John, Carla and kids, you guys are awesome. There’s always growth on the other side of suffer ing, but you have to be willing to try.” That same spirit of determination and gratitude is what defines Tuckness’ outlook on life. For him, Positive Times isn’t just about cele brating the highs, it’s about finding strength and overcoming the lows. “It means to me finding the good in the valley as if you were on the mountaintop,” Tuckness said. “James 1:2 tells us to find joy in hard times because the testing of your faith produces endurance. Everyone gets wrapped up in the

prize, but it’s the process where you find out more about yourself and if you are worth having the prize. For me, the process is the prize, and that’s how I keep times positive.” Tuckness’ perspective speaks to something deeper than competition, it’s about character. He’s the kind of cowboy who lifts others up, who leads through his actions and who constantly works to become better than he was yesterday. Whether it’s mentoring young bullfighters, sharing his faith or simply being present for his family and friends, he understands that true impact comes from consistency and heart. Tuckness often reminds others that life isn’t about chasing titles or trophies, but about the people you share the journey with. “Life isn’t always about what you do, but who you do life with,” Tuckness said. Through it all, Tuckness continues to be a positive in fluence in the rodeo industry and beyond as a man who lives his values both inside and outside the arena. His story is one of perseverance, faith and humili ty. Whether he’s fighting bulls, running marathons or simply showing up for the people who matter most, Tuckness proves that Positive Times isn’t about per fection, it’s about perspective.

It’s about finding joy in the struggle, gratitude in the grind and purpose in the process. Tuckness reminds us all that the mark of a true cowboy isn’t measured by fame or accolades, but by the way he carries himself when no one’s watching. And in that way, Tuck ness sets the ultimate standard and is living proof that with faith, effort and heart, every time can be a positive time.
