six years. Coming into my first NFR and doing this, it’s unbelievable right now.” Edler earned $154,903 at the Finals to claim his first world championship in his Wrangler NFR debut. It came down to Round 10 for Edler to secure the world title, and he followed through. Edler clocked a 3.9-second time to finish fourth in the final round and win the average and world championships. Edler won the average with a 43.4-second time on 10 head. Jorgensen was second at 43.7 seconds, failing to place in Round 10 after a 5.0-second run. Edler didn’t out-think himself before he arrived at the arena Dec. 12. “My thoughts were, I knew it was going to be a one-hitter,” he said. “I wasn’t the favorite coming into today. Said Edler: “I told him (Jorgensen), ‘Thank you so much. Thank you for being a friend. One of these gold buckles is headed your way. You bulldog way too good not to have one.’”
