Ryder Wright reins in second world title

BY SCOTT KANIEWSKI A t 22, Ryder Wright is a Wrangler National Finals Rodeo veteran. Wright entered the 2020Wrangler NFR in second place and trailing leader Wyatt Casper by about $34,000. A year after losing a lead of more than $45,000, Wright knew the Finals would provide all the opportunity he needed to catch Casper.

Wright used that veteran knowledge to ride to his second saddle bronc riding world championship at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Dec. 3-12, setting a record in the process. Wright won the Wrangler NFR average, four rounds outright and split the win in Round 10 to win his first world championship since 2017. He finished the season atop the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings with
