BY AMBER BAILLIE T ie-down roper Shad Mayfield’s $89,479 lead over his nearest competitor upon entering the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo enabled him to stay ahead of his competition all the way through the final round of the 10-day event.

The Clovis, N.M., native earned his first world championship during the Finals at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Dec. 3-12, after finishing with $198,399 in the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings.
