BY TRACY RENCK G rowing up in Colorado Springs, Colo., Rich “Goose” Gossage acknowledged he had a liking for the Western lifestyle. However, baseball was his niche. Gossage then went on to play 22 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1972 to 1994. He was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008. In the 1970s and 80s, Gossage became a dominant reliever with his trademark moustache, menacing glare and exploding fastball. Gossage still never lost his love for the western way of life and the ProRodeo Hall of Fame is hosting a fundraising event with Gossage as the headliner. The event dubbed “An Evening with Goose” will feature a night of storytelling, an opportunity for Q&A and conversation with the baseball legend. The event will be held on Friday, May 19 at the Hall of Fame at 6 p.m. (MT) in Colorado Springs. “I was born and raised in Colorado,” Gossage said. “My family goes back to somewhere in the late 1800s.
