F ew draws put a grin on bareback riders’ faces quicker these days than Frontier Rodeo’s Gun Fire. The 10-year-old mare has evolved into one of the elite animal athletes in ProRodeo, a dreammatchup for anyone looking to not only win a rodeo, but to be part of something special. A half-sister to four-time PRCA Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year Medicine Woman, Gun Fire has been on fire in 2021. Most recently, the nearly 1,500-pound bucker carried three-time World Champion TimO’Connell to a world record-tying 94-point mark at the Riggin Rally Xtreme Broncs inWeatherford, Texas, April 3. Clayton Biglow, the 2019 world champion, won the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo aboard the horse Feb. 27 thanks to an arena record-tying 93 pointer, and Tilden Hooper wonThe American with a 90.5 aboard Gun Fire the week after Biglow’s ride to pocket $100,000 and take over the 2021 PRCA | RAMWorld Standings lead. Simply put, the horse is just different. “She’s in a league of her own right now,” said Biglow, a five-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier. “She’s definitely the one to have, and it’s hard to compare anything to her.
