NATE HORNER CHECKS COWS WITH DAUGHTER • North Dakota team roping header with a focus on the Badlands Circuit since joining the PRCA in 2018 I took my 2-year-old daughter, Karsyn Rose Horner, out to check cattle with our 11-year-old stallion, Thunder. During this time of social isolation, it’s pretty easy to stay six feet away from people during calving season. We have about 450 cows. My wife (Lindsey) is an equine veterinarian, so she works on horses and I’m a semi- retired horseshoer, so we’re a one- stop shop. My wife runs barrels too, so a lot of our clientele are rodeo people. Only a couple of our circuit’s rodeos have been canceled so far, but they canceled the high school and college rodeos, and that’s most of our clients. Our performance horse work is still in question too, but it’s normally a quiet time now. The Badlands Circuit is great for me since it fits into our calving deal in the spring.

JACK WRIGHT TEACHES NEPHEW TO RACE CRAWFISH • Saddle bronc riding permit holder from De Ridder, La. I made the trip home from Southwestern Oklahoma State University to visit my family for Easter. Before our crawfish boil, I showed my nephew Payson how to race crawfish. He wigged out and didn’t like it at all and wanted to get away from them son- of-a-guns. I’m enjoying the time off with family, but I can’t wait to get back to rodeoing. My aunt and my godfather are both physicians on the frontlines in New Orleans, so we understand the dangers and the reason for social distancing all too well. I had to get a job day-working for a ranch in Oklahoma, but I would rather ride a bronc than get a job.
