PRCA Youth Rodeo Camps taking off Next Generation

BY TANNER BARTH T he next generation of rodeo athletes are in good hands. The PRCA Youth Camp initiative is participate during the 2022 season. These Youth Rodeo Camps are geared at providing free learning opportunities for cowboys and cowgirls just starting out who either have had little or no direction in rodeo or have been competing in rodeo and want to further learn about the fundamentals from PRCA champions. The PRCA believes these camps will help continue to grow the sport both in and out of the arena, while providing youth athletes with a rodeo experience unlike any other. “PRCA Youth Camps provide a unique opportunity to bring the rodeo experience to an audience of individuals and families who may not have any exposure to our events,” said MaureenWeekes, PRCA director. being spread across the nation with over 11,000 kids expected to

There will be an emphasis on safety, fundamentals, chute procedures, livestock safety, and many other necessary understandings for success in not only rodeo, but scholastic endeavors. Many of the camps will be instructed by former and current ProRodeo athletes. Director of Youth Camps Tate Stratton said it’s a way for the cowboys to invest in the next generation of cowboys and cowgirls while doing something they love. “The youth camps give a way for our rodeo athletes to give back and directly impact kids’ lives, whether that be a mentor, a hero or just someone to root for at the community rodeo,” Stratton said. “The camps give the committee and the PRCA the opportunity to give back and gain community support as we work to educate youthful
