Askey, Radley fill time with hunting and fishing BY MATT NABER S coring big bucks and making the perfect catch are goals that connect rodeo to hunting and fishing, but there’s more to it than that for bull riders Jeff Askey and Koby Radley. “Rodeos and cowboying are outdoors and so are hunting and fishing, so it all goes along the same line,” Radley said. “It’s like riding bulls, if you take it too seriously, you’ll go down fast.” Even before life was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Radley and Askey enjoyed hunting and fishing as often as possible. The current pause on rodeo has given them time to enjoy the outdoors more. “The people who rodeo or watch rodeo go hunting too since it’s outdoorsy and part of classic rural America,” Askey said.
