ABOUT TRE AGE: 27 HOMETOWN: Compton, Calif. EVENT: Bareback riding CAREER HIGHLIGHT: Won the 2020 California Circuit year-end title

BY SCOTT KANIEWSKI T re Hosley would love to have a full slate of ProRodeos on his calendar. But that’s not the case right now. And it’s not because of the pandemic. Hosley’s busy hauling others to rodeos. The Compton, Calif., bareback rider is doing his part to get kids to Jr. Rodeos because he never had that chance. Though his dad rodeoed when Hosley was a kid, he never considered rodeo as a career option.

Hosley does a bit of everything outside the arena. In addition to rodeoing, he’s also a stunt double (he did work in a soon-to-be- released Netflix film titled “The Harder They Fall” and was in Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” video), breeds French Bulldogs, trades on the foreign exchange market, and gives back to the community. “I mentor kids here in the city,” said Hosley, 27. “I show them what it’s like to be a cowboy, that there’s more options than football and gang-banging.” Sometimes the acting and modeling would present a rodeo opportunity.
