Longtime PRCA photographer Phifer goes ‘crazy’ for shots A Bird’s-EyeView

BY MATT NABER F rom the first time James Phifer shot a rodeo as a high school student in 1991, he knew rodeo photography was his calling. Since, he’s seen rodeos and photography grow and change, shooting about 180 performances and driving about 30,000 miles per year. One thing that hasn’t changed is Phifer’s motto: “Doing crazy things to get cool footage.” One example of this is

pictured above, literally, at the 2007 Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show in Fort Worth, Texas.
