Driggers/Nogueira win Dodge City for first time In the Hunt

BY TRACY RENCK B y their standards, 2019 hasn’t been a spectacular season for team ropers Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira. Yet as September approached, the talented duo are essentially a lock to make it to the 2019Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and are again in world championship contention. Driggers and Nogueira had their skills on full display at the Dodge City (Kan.) Roundup, winning the average with a 16.3-second time on three head. “We didn’t have a great summer, and I’ve had some success at Dodge

a couple of times, and it was dang sure a great rodeo,” said Driggers, 29. “I think we got our fourth quarter started off a little better than how we started the summer.” Driggers and Nogueira earned $8,283 each in Dodge City. Driggers was fifth in the Aug. 19 PRCA | RAMWorld Standings among team roping headers with $85,708, while Nogueira was in the same spot and with the same money in the heeler world standings. This was the third time Driggers has won Dodge City and with his third different partner. In 2013, Driggers and Travis Graves were the champions with a 15.3-second time on three head, and in 2014 Driggers won with Patrick Smith, as they had a 17.4-second time on three head.
