Style show and luncheon raises $91K for JCCF For the 32nd year, the Pro Rodeo League of Women hosted its fashion show and luncheon to raise money for the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to injured cowboys. Since 1987, the Pro Rodeo League of Women has raised $1.9 million to support the JCCF. Michael and Paula Gaughan hosted 900 guests during the luncheon at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, Dec.12. Tracy Hedeman and Stacey Custer headed the event, and for the first time, PRCA rodeo announcer Anthony Lucia and his wife, Lisa, were emcees. “It’s a tradition that dates back more than 30 years, to gather here at the beautiful South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa for fashion, fun, food and fundraising,” Anthony Lucia said. “Stacey and Tracy work tirelessly along with a group of about 60 individuals who volunteer, plan and work this event. Thank you to each and every one of you who see the importance of supporting this event and our cause to help injured cowboys.” During the style show, rodeo contestants’ wives, barrel racer Cheyenne Wimberley, and saddle bronc riders and brothers Jacobs and Sterling Crawley showcased clothes fromWrangler and Justin Boots. Barrelman John Harrison gave away more than 200 raffle prizes donated by sponsors, rodeo committees, private donors and vendors. During the live auction, Carla Harrison and Pecos Tatum helped raise $30,150 from unique items that included a handmade quilt from Elsie Frost and a George Strait-autographed guitar. Money raised from the silent auction generated $6,760. At the end of the event, the Pro Rodeo League of Women presented a $91,000 check to JCCF board member Mike Rich. For the last two years the event raised $80,000.
