BY TRACY RENCK F or some cowboys, the PRCA circuit system is a perfect fit. That’s the case for saddle bronc rider Dawson Jandreau at this point in his rodeo career. Jandreau joined the PRCA in January 2010 and has been a mainstay in the Badlands Circuit since. He has shown flashes of greatness but has not been able to maintain his skills because of injuries. “It seems like I get hurt like three times a year,” said Jandreau, 28. “Last

year I didn’t really rodeo much at all. I broke my tailbone in Denver (in January 2019), and then I came back and went to a few rodeos and I broke my ribs. Pretty much every year since 2013, I have had something dumb happen. I’ve broken enough bones for sure.” Jandreau is trying to change his fortunes. He jumpstarted his 2020 Badlands Circuit season by winning the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Premier Rodeo in September. Jandreau recorded an 89-point ride on Sutton Rodeos’ South Point, earning $1,951. South Point bucked at the 2019Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December.

BEST SEASON: $21,910 (2018)
