FAST FACTS • The first San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo was held Feb. 17, 1950 , at the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum, where it remained until 2003. • The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has been held in the AT&T Center since 2003 . The facility is less than three miles away from the Alamo and the famed Riverwalk. • The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo won the Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year award for the first time in 2005 and has won it every year since. • As of last year, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo’s educational commitment exceeded $198 million , with $12 million this year committed to scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock auctions, youth Western art auction, calf scramble and show premiums. • It takes more than 6,000 volunteers working with more than 40 committees to make the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo possible. • The AT&T Center hosts three other anchor tenants – the San Antonio Spurs (NBA), San Antonio Rampage (AHL) and San Antonio Stars (WNBA). Many episodes of WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown have been filmed at the center, as were the 2007 Royal Rumble, TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs in 2009, Vengeance in 2011 and Hell in a Cell last year. The center also hosts the San Antonio Sports Car Association autocross competitions in the parking lot. • Capacity at the AT&T Center ranges from 16,151 for hockey games up to 19,000 for concerts.
