Tryan and Long make two solid runs to win Prescott Back in Rhythm

Tryan is a three-time world champion header and Long a nine- time qualifying heeler for the Wrangler Nationals Finals Rodeo, including the last six years. Still, they weren’t liking their chances of winning the World’s Oldest
Rodeo in Prescott, Ariz., after they made a 6.0-second run in the first round. “We went early (June 29), and I’m shocked we won it, but that rodeo is a little weird to team rope because you both come out of the heel side,” said Tryan, who won world titles in 2005, 2013 and 2014. “For the second run, we knew we had a steer that ran pretty good, and you can’t really be too late at the start or you’ll be too slow. I got a really good start, and we made a really good run on that one, that’s the reason we won it. It was awesome to win it.” Tryan and Long stopped the clock in 5.9 seconds in the second round to
