Ryder Wright sets earnings record for regular season Historic SHORT ROUND

Since moving into first in the world standings after Arlington, Wright has remained the saddle bronc riding leader. “I’ll keep trying to add to it,” Wright said. Wright, 21, set the record for most money won in a single season in saddle bronc riding, including money won at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, with $284,938 in 2017. “I think I’m more confident than I was when I first started rodeoing,” Wright said. “You’re in the pros and getting on harder bucking horses, and you try not to think about it, but it’s in the back of your mind like, ‘How am I going to handle it?’ But now I know I can ride these horses, and that’s a big part.”

Hall of Fame set for anniversary celebration

On Aug. 6, the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo., will have a 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Hall of Fame. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (MT) the ProRodeo Hall of Fame will roll back to 1979 admission prices – $2.50 for adults and $1 for children. The day will include a trick roper, petting zoo, stick horse rodeo, Pikes Peak Rangerettes, face painting and temporary tattoos, food trucks, a

presentation of the “Aloha Rodeo” book with an author signing, hourly door prizes, a bouncy house, photo booth, roping dummies, vintage rodeo poster and print sales, and a historic slide presentation. From 4-8 p.m. admission is free. There will be a concert by Narrow Gauge, Wrangler NFR ticket giveaway, Otter Box cooler raffle, children’s activities, adult beverages and a cake.
