Caleb Bennett is no stranger to big time performances during the Fourth of July run. Last season he was the top roughstock money earner over Cowboy Christmas. Bennett put together yet another profitable run this year. Bennett’s biggest payday this time around came at the Mandan (N.D.) Rodeo Days. The nine-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier had an 88-point ride on Harper &Morgan Rodeo Co.’s Sippin Firewater to take home the bareback riding title and $7,121 for his performance. INDEPENDENCE DAY RODEO OAKLEY CITY, UTAH Shane Proctor finds rodeo riches in Oakley

At age 37, Shane Proctor is definitely a veteran of the sport and is not hauling like he did in the midst of earning six trips to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. But it would certainly be a mistake to underestimate the 2011 PRCAWorld Champion Bull Rider, as folks around the Oakley (Utah) Independence Rodeo found out on Saturday night, July 2. Proctor claimed victory at the NFR Playoff Series presented by PendletonWhisky stop after putting together a 90-point ride aboard Bar T Rodeo’s Ditch. The $4,974 win was a bit of validation for Proctor. “They were setting the perf up and were going to end with a PRCA trick rider, and daughter, Coulee, this season and only went to three rodeos over the Fourth. Though he’s won more than $15,000 in his last four rodeos, Proctor is not hitting the trail looking for another Wrangler NFR berth. “My goal is to enjoy rodeoing and be there with my family, no matter how stressful that is,” he joked.
