Fresh off his third PRCAWorld Championship tie-down roper Caleb Smidt put together another impressive Cowboy Christmas performance at the Home of Champions Rodeo in Red Lodge, Mont. The Bellville, Texas cowboy put together a 7.6-second run to claim the title, edging out second place Cooper Martin by two-tenths of a second. Smidt currently sits 11th in the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings after earning $5,001 in Red Lodge. He’s seeking his eighth trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2022. WESTERN STAMPEDE WEST JORDAN, UTAH Jacob Edler gets boost with win 2020 PRCAWorld Champion Steer Wrestler Jacob Edler has been looking for a boost to get his season pointed in the right direction and this year’s Cowboy Christmas run came at the perfect time. Behind a 3.8-second run, Edler captured the title at the Western Stampede inWest Jordan, Utah. The win added $2,393 to his 2022 season earnings, bumping him up inside the top 40 of the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings. Over the course of nine days during the Fourth of July run Edler pocketed $6,947, which included placing at three different rodeos. He has his sights set on making his first trip to Las Vegas this December.

Wade Sundell is making a push toward his 10thWrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2022 and a win at the Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche, S.D. over the Cowboy Christmas run will help his cause. Sundell matched up with Burch Rodeo’s Lunatic From Hell and provided fireworks for rodeo fans on the Fourth of July. The duo put together a 90-point trip to win the rodeo, marking Sundell’s highest scored ride of the season. The win in Belle Fourche earned the ProRodeo veteran $5,696, bumping him up to 28th in the latest PRCA | RAM World Standings.
