Despite the adversity, Bloomquist has never given up on his Wrangler National Finals Rodeo bareback riding dream. “This is what I love to do and what I would love to do every day,” said Bloomquist, 24. “You can’t quit. Bloomquist grew up in Raymond, Minn., and got involved with rodeo because his father, David, high school rodeoed and was a bareback rider and bull rider in the PRCA as well as a bullfighter. “I just knew rodeo was something I wanted to do,” Bloomquist said. Through hard work and talent, he landed a spot on the Sheridan (Wyo.) College rodeo team and then moved on to compete for Chadron (Neb.) State College. Bloomquist qualified for the College National Finals
