BY TRACY RENCK T he ProRodeo Hall of Fame welcomed a pair of guests who will be staying through Labor Day. Cervi Championship Rodeo brought a pair of horses F42 Hostage and A83 Broken Sky. The horses arrived in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the Hall of Fame on May 27. They are part of PRCA ProRodeo photo Cervi Championship Rodeo’s F42 Hostage, front, and A83 Broken Sky, are guests at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame through Labor Day. Special F42 Hostage was born in 1997 and retired from rodeo in 2016. She was a multiple-time competitor at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Bobby Mote won Round 4 of the 2007 NFR with 85.5-point ride on the way to winning the world championship that year. F42 Hostage has had 17 foals. Many of which have made NFR appearances, including P16 Hell’s Fire Hostage andW30 Guardian Angel. A83 Broken Sky is the cousin is 2020 PRCA Cervi Championship Rodeo brings horses to ProRodeo Hall Guests the Livestock Exhibit, which opened on May 28 and will stay open through Labor Day. “We are pleased that we are able to bring back the rodeo livestock exhibit after a two-year absence,” said Kent Sturman, ProRodeo Hall of Fame Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year V60 Womanizer. The grandmother is 706 Big Sky, who was selected for the NFR TV pen multiple times. A83 Broken Sky is set to begin his rodeo career as a 5-year-old next year in the Cervi string. “Hostage is a 25-year-old mare and I’m glad we were able to get her there (to the ProRodeo Hall of Fame) and tell her story,” said Binion Cervi. “She is pregnant, and she should have a baby by the middle of the June. The PRCA can be part of that, and the Hall of Fame has a nice facility that is perfect for aged horses, which is a good set-up for her. “Broken Sky is a really young stud with really good genetics. His career hasn’t started, and this is a good steppingstone for him. He will grow up another year and we will start bucking him.” Director. “The guests are excited to see them. Having the live animals here really helps us educate the visitors about the animals used in rodeo and the care they receive. These animals are athletes in their own right and we are glad to share their talents with those that visit the Hall of Fame.” The horses will be staying in the Hall of Fame Barn. The Barn is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (MT). Guests are welcome to visit the horses and learn more about the animals used in professional rodeo.
