Contestants must plan for nine days of rodeo in 16 different states and two countries for some. “The biggest thing is mentally you have to be prepared for just about anything,” Bennett said. “Over the years I feel like I’ve just developed or come up with my run. My way of trying to hit rodeos, the days I like to be there, and the way I like to line it up. “Once you’re rodeoing if something doesn’t go right you’ve got to mentally and physically be able to block that out and go onto the next one. You just got to be able to focus on what’s at hand and forget about the past.” But they are more than up for the challenge it presents. “This is where the season starts really. The summer run is huge if you want to accomplish your goals,” Webb said. “I feel good about it, I just have to get out there and do my job every day.”
