BY TRACY RENCK B ode Scott has never pretended to be anything else. He’s a circuit cowboy through and through. Scott, 32, joined the PRCA in May 2009 and has been a staple in the Montana Circuit ever since, competing as a tie- down roper, steer wrestler and team roping header. “The circuit system is great for me,” Scott said. “My family runs S Ranch in Pryor (Mont.). We have about 200,000 acres. We have a cow-calf operation, a large feedlot and a horse operation. I keep plenty busy with work. Our busiest time is fromApril

through the first of July. Everybody in our family is involved with the business. If there was no circuit deal, I probably wouldn’t compete in the PRCA.” Scott’s rodeo roots can be traced to his father, Jim, who was a steer wrestler, saddle bronc rider and tie-down roper. The elder Scott won the Montana Circuit Finals Rodeo average in tie-down roping in 1983 and saddle bronc riding in 1984. He was the Montana Circuit year-end title champ in tie-down roping in 1993. Bode, 6-foot and 210 pounds, worked his way up through rodeo ranks and competed in college at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, graduating with a degree in Ag Business.
