MANAGER’S MESSAGE TRACY RENCK

NFR Media Day leads to compelling interviews Tom Donoghue photo From left, The Chute Bosses hosts Tracy Renck and Tanner Barth interview 2023 PRCA Bull Riding World Champion Ky Hamilton at the NFR Media Day on June 4 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. T he 2024 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Teton Ridge is quickly approaching. Seemingly in a blink of an eye, things will unfold Dec. 5-14 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Six months before the NFR action is set to begin, Las Vegas Events hosted an NFR Media Day for the 2023 PRCA World Champions. All the reigning champs were in attendance – bareback rider Keenan Hayes, steer wrestler Tyler Some snippets include: • Waguespack talking about being a small kid who

was getting smoked by his fellow contestants in middle school and high school to trusting the process and becoming one of the best steer wrestlers in the storied history of ProRodeo. • Bareback rider Keenan Hayes discussing his golf game and golf attire. • Riley Webb chatting about the pressure of a being a teenage roping phenom and living up to the hype and capturing a gold buckle at age 20. • Wade and Thorp talking about their literally spur of the moment partnership to compete in the PRCA together and walk away with gold buckles. • Thurston discussing the quality of Canadian bronc riders going down the road. • Hamilton hitting the rewind button and talking about his 2023 NFR for the ages. • Stetson Wright talking about the trust he has in his father, ProRodeo Hall of Fame saddle bronc rider Cody Wright, to keep him going down the path to more greatness. • Patterson discussing the influence of his father Rocky and the advice he gets from legendary steer roper Guy Allen. • Pozzi Tonozzi discussing her magical, record breaking 2023 season she didn’t see coming. • Cameron detailing her path to becoming Miss Rodeo America Make a point to watch the upcoming episodes of The Chute Bosses (@TheChuteBosses) on Instagram and YouTube.com/@PRCAProRodeo and all streaming platforms. Learn much, much more about these individuals who took time in this casual setting to talk about their lives inside and outside the arena.

Waguespack, team roping header Tyler Wade, his partner/ heeler Wesley Thorp, saddle bronc rider Zeke Thurston, tie-down roper Riley Webb, barrel racer Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, bull rider Ky Hamilton and all-around champ Stetson Wright. Miss Rodeo America Emma Cameron joined the festivities as well. The day began at 5 p.m. (PT) June 3 until 10 p.m. and then lasted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 4. This content gathering event was amazing for media members like me and colleague Tanner Barth, the ProRodeo Sports News Editor & Digital Media Specialist, PRCA Social Media Manager Jessica Butterly and PRCA Videographer & Producer Chris Theulen, because all the reigning world champs were in one location and the access was great. During the two-day event, Barth and I recorded 10 world champion interviews for The Chute Bosses, the official podcast of the PRCA – including one with PRCA World Champion Steer Roper Cole Patterson, who was in town June 3 and one with Miss Rodeo America Cameron. The best part about these interviews – which will run in the coming weeks on The Chute Bosses is it allowed Barth and I to peel back the curtain and get to know the athletes better.
