DALTON KINGERY Saddle Bronc Rider – Great Lakes Circuit Who do you want to draw?
bigger deals. I look forward to giving it my all there. BART MILLER Bull Rider – Badlands Circuit Who do you want to draw? My dream draw would be whatever will get me to the pay window. I’m not putting much thought into it. I just want to stay on them, that’s all I’m thinking about. I don’t have a favorite one coming to the RAMNCFR. I don’t pay too much attention to bulls because it boils down to just staying on them. GARRETT“GUMBY”WREN Bull Rider – Great Lakes Circuit How did you get the nickname Gumby? I used to watch the show Gumby , and when I was learning to walk, I kept falling down and so does the character Gumby, and the name stuck. Who do you want to draw? I’m not real sure. You want to draw ones you can win on, and all the ones they selected to go (to the RAMNCFR) are good enough to win on.
My dream horse is going to remain a dream because he’s retired, Lunatic Fringe. But I couldn’t even tell you a specific dream horse because I’ve been blessed to get on so many great horses and some not so great ones. Stace Smith Pro Rodeo’s Resistols Top Hat is one of my dream horses also, and that’s as close as you can get to Lunatic Fringe. I’ve been on (Dakota Rodeo’s) Native Fringe in Deadwood (S.D.), and he was an awesome horse. I think (Dakota Rodeo’s) Bartender is

coming frommy circuit, and I’ve never been able to get on him. That would be unbelievable. If I saw my name next to him, nobody could hold me still. I got on Hi Lo ProRodeo’s Larry Culpepper in Cheyenne (Wyo.), and he bucked me off so hard, but I was so excited to get on him. Jacobs Crawley said he is a super-cool horse, and I saw him buck at the NFR. I think they won the round on him, and he had a super-nice trip on him. I would like to nod my head on Larry Culpepper again. I don’t like to take defeat too much. I got on Vold Rodeo’s Painted Bear my senior year as my last horse at the College Finals, and I wish I had gone on her with more momentum going in. I would love to get on that horse again. (Kingery knows his stuff. Cort Scheer won Round 2 of the 2018Wrangler NFR on Larry Culpepper with 92 points.) What makes them special? Man, you got horses you get on and they feel good and you can be a handful of points on them, but there are some horses when you get off, your chest feels blown up and you feel 10-feet tall. The humor from that is I am 5-6, I’m a little guy, but I have felt 10-feet tall before. Some horses, the way they buck, they are just athletes. When you give your all, you know there’s not a thing that can shake you and you can’t wait to step off and see the score. You can get on a good horse and then get on 300 bad ones, and that one horse makes it worth it because one of these days you will get another good one. Overall, what do you think about the lineup for the RAM NCFR? Oh, my goodness, you got me wound up – I’m at the grocery store now pacing back and forth. I’m super excited. Where I have the most fun is at these

Overall, what do you think about the lineup for the RAM NCFR? The lineup seems really good, and they have good contractors going so they’re giving everyone a shot to win down there. Which one will be the hardest to ride? Some bulls have a trick or two, you just have to be on your game – just keep riding and hustling. Tim O’Connell scored 84.5 points on Harry Vold Rodeo’s Excalibur during Round 4 of the 2017 Wrangler NFR. First Frontier Circuit bareback rider Tim Kent rode Excalibur at last year’s RAM NCFR and hopes to be just as surprised by his draw this year as he was last year with Excalibur.
