Former servicewoman finds place as rodeo photographer Scoping It Out

BY MATT NABER F rom competing in European rodeos while serving in the U.S. Navy to riding around the Wyoming range and winning 2013 PRCA Photographer of the Year, there’s not much that Eva Scofield hasn’t seen, done or photographed. The rodeo road is her home for now, as she’s traveled across the U.S. three

times in her RV over the last year, photographing rodeos along the way. Of course, she makes time for her family with her mom in California and her brother collecting her mail at her old house in Virginia. But for this traveling photographer, home is Sheridan, Wyo. Her rodeo roots began in the Navy, where she served as captain from 1985 through 2015. While serving overseas, Scofield competed in barrel racing, tie- down roping, rescue races, wild horse races and saddle bronc riding in Germany
