scores from each of the Semi-Finals performances will advance to the Finals on July 28. If 6th place in the Semi- Finals is tied, the contestant with the highest score in the Quarter Finals will advance. If the tie cannot be broken, both with advance. BB, SB - Placement procedure for Semi- Finals: First place and third place from performances 1, 3, and 5 and second place and fourth place from performances 2, 4, and 6 will compete in the 7th performance. Second place and fourth place from performances 1, 3, and 5 and first place and third place from performances 2, 4 and 6 will compete in the 8th performance. Contestants will be allowed to trade in the Semi-Finals up to 24 hours prior to the 7th performance. BR - 120 minimum entries. 100% top money (50% from 2018 money won, 50% from 2019 money won). No compensation. No slack. All contestants will compete in the Quarter Finals, which will consist of the first six performances on July 20-25 (20 contestants per performance). The contestants with the top 6 scores (plus splits) from each Quarter Finals performance will advance to the Semi- Finals on July 26 and 27. The Semi- Finals will consist of a total of 36 contestants (18 contestants in each performance). If there are not 6 qualified rides in one or more of the Quarter Finals performances, the remaining positions (up to a total of 36) will be filled by contestants with the next highest scores from the Quarter Finals performances. The contestants with top 6 scores (plus splits) from each of the Semi-Finals performances will advance to the Finals on July 28. BR - Placement procedure for the Semi- Finals: First place, third place, and fifth place from performances 1, 3 and 5 and second place, fourth place, and sixth place from performances 2, 4 and 6 will compete in the 7th performance. Second place, fourth place, and sixth place from performances 1, 3, and 5, and first place, third place, and fifth place from performances 2, 4, and 6 will compete in the 8th performance. If there are not 6 qualified rides in one or more of the Quarter Finals performances, the contestant with the next highest score from the other Quarter Finals performances will be contacted and offered the position. If there is a tie for the next highest score, a random draw will determine which contestant is contacted (If there are more than one position to be filled, the contestant will be placed in the highest ranked available position. If there are two equally ranked positions, a random draw will determine which positions will be used). If he does not accept the position, the contestant with the next highest score in the Quarter Finals will be offered the position. This procedure will be repeated until all positions in the Semi-Finals are filled. If there are not 6 qualified rides in the one of the Semi-Finals performances, the contestant with the next highest score from the other Semi-Finals performance, who is not already qualified, will be contacted and offered the position. If he does not accept the position, this procedure will be repeated until all 12 positions in the Finals are filled. If there are less than 12 qualified rides in the Semi- Finals, there will be less than 12 contestants in the Finals. Only contestants with qualified rides in the Semi-Finals may advance to the Finals. Contestants will be allowed to trade in the Semi-Finals up to 24 hours prior to the 7th performance. ALL EVENTS - Since there is a pay-off every performance and contestants advance to the Semi- Finals or Finals from each performance or “back to back” group, moves due to qualifying for the finals at Nampa, and Salinas will not be allowed. Trades will be allowed up to the day before the contestant’s scheduled performance. See the following sections titled “Trade Deadline for BB, SB, and BR” and “Timed Event Trades”. TRADE DEADLINE AND STOCK DRAW for BB, SB,
and BR - The first trade deadline will be Friday, July 19 at 6 PM (the day prior to the first performance). There will also be a trade deadline 24 hours prior to each of the first 7 performances. Stock will be drawn each day for the next day immediately following the trade deadline. RE-RIDE ANIMALS - Will be used in the following order: 1.) Designated re- ride(s) for that performance, 2.) Available unused animals (notified turn- outs, doctor releases, and visible injuries) for that performance, 3.) Available unused animals (designated re-rides, notified and non-notified turn- outs, visible injures, and doctor releases) from previous performances. TD, SW, TR - 150 minimum entries (or teams). No compensation. All 150 entries (or teams) will compete in the Qualifying rounds (two go-rounds) on July 16 and 17. The contestants with the top 40 times in the TD and TR, and the top 48 times in the SW in the average will advance to Quarter Finals, which will consist of four groups of 10 contestants (12 in the SW) in each group competing in two more competitions, back to back, performance to performance (July 20 and 21; July 22 and 23; July 24 and 25, or July 26 and 27). The top four money winners in each group will advance to the Finals (top 16) on July 28. Any ties for advancement to the Finals will be broken by the single fastest time in the quarter Finals. A 30 foot score with a hand pull barrier will be used. QUALIFYING ROUNDS - Monday, July 15 at 7 AM - two go-rounds of Steer roping; Tuesday, July 16 at 7 AM - First go- round of Tie Down roping and two go- rounds of Team roping; Wednesday, July 17 at 7 AM - Two go-rounds (back to back) for approximately one half of the Steer Wrestlers and the second go-round of Tie Down roping (the Tie Down roping will be run between the two go-rounds of SW); Thursday, July 18 at 7 AM - Two go- rounds (back to back) for approximately one half of the Steer Wrestlers (there will be a break between the two go- rounds). TD, SW, TR - The top 40 in the TD and TR, and the top 48 in the SW that advance to the Quarter Finals (which consists of the first 8 performances on July 20-27) will be placed randomly in the first 8 performances by PROCOM. PLACEMENT PROCEDURE FOR QUARTER FINALS - In the Timed Events: A random draw of the placings (1st through 40th in the TD and TR, and 1st through 48th in the SW) will determine scheduled competition positions and competition order. This draw will occur in PROCOM prior to the Qualifying rounds. Ten contestants or teams (twelve in the SW) will compete two times, back to back, in the 1st and 2nd, the 3rd and 4th, the 5th and 6th, or the 7th and 8th performances. The random draw of the placings will be posted at the rodeo office along with results after the completion of each event in the Qualifying rounds. TIMED EVENT TRADE DEADLINE FOR THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS - Will be Thursday, July 11 at 5 PM. TIMED EVENT TRADE DEADLING FOR THE QUARTER FINALS - Will be Friday, July 19 at 6 PM. There will also be a trade deadline for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th groups of contestants 24 hours prior to the third performance and for the 3rd and 4th groups, 24 hours prior to the 5th performance. These additional deadlines are implemented to assist contestants who may be placed in the conflicting positions at other rodeos during the Quarter Finals. Trades will NOT be accepted by the rodeo secretary. ALL TRADES MUST BE CONFIRMED THROUGH PROCOM. TD - Only one loop allowed. There will be a stock charge of 30$ per contestant. Fresh animals will be used in the first go-round of each Quarter Finals and the Finals.
SW - R10.7.10 pertaining to fresh steers missed in competition will be waived. All splits will be made at Chute 9 one hour prior to the start of the qualifying round or performance. There will be two sections in the SW to accommodate splits. Fresh animals will be used in the Finals. TR - Only two loops allowed. Teams must enter from the back of the box. Permit holders will not be allowed to enter with a card holder or another permit holder. After a team competes on a steer, the team must release the steer and not impede his progress to the stripping chute. Violation of this is subject to a $100 fine. Team Roping cattle will chute run (not drawn) for the Qualifying round. If a contestant receives a re-run, the extra will be the first animal loaded in the chute after all the contestants in the Qualifying round have competed. TD, SW, TR, SR - Pens of animals for all performances and/or Qualifying round may be drawn prior to the beginning of the first performance or Qualifying round as long as there is one animal for every entry plus adequate extras. The timed event stock may be drawn the evening prior to the Qualifying round or performance but the results of the draw will not be posted until one hour prior to the Qualifying round or performance. All timed event draws will be posted at Chute 9 only. TIMED EVENT SPLITS - Due to the arena size and production speed, some splits in the Qualifying round may be moved up to 20 positions based on horses. Contestants are responsible to check their positions after splits and inform the chute boss if there are any issues. TD, SW, TR, SR - If a timed event animal escapes or a re-run is given for any other reason, the extra will be used. Only escaped animals go back into the herd. The misdraw procedure will not be used. An order of extras will be drawn from the sleepers and/ or designated extras. Cheyenne reserves the right to set the timed event herds with the approval of the field flag judge and respective event representative. TIMED EVENTS - There will be a $75 charge for every notified and non- notified turn-out for the first go-round of SW and SR, and a $50 charge for the first go-round of the TD (does not include DR’s and VIR’s). TIMED EVENTS - Rule 10.1.2.1 will be waived (pertaining to the TE chute gate) . SR - 150 minimum entries. No compensation. Contestants with no money won in 2018 or 2019 who have entered the steer roping event at less than 7 rodeos in 2018 and 2019 combined will not be accepted as entries. The following entrants shall be exempt from this limitation: any PRCA Steer Roping World Champion, any past NFSR qualifiers, and the 2016-2018 Cheyenne Steer Roping Champions. Two go-rounds plus a top 12 finals. All 150 contestants will compete in both go-rounds during the Qualifying round on Monday, July 15 at 7 AM. The top 12 will advance to the finals on July 28. There will be a $100 stock charge per contestant. A 30 foot score with a hand pull barrier will be used. Only one loop will be allowed. Fresh steers will be used in the Finals. ALL EVENTS - A contestant not ready when called during a performance or qualifying round will be subject to a $100 fine and/or disqualification from that go-round. ALL EVENTS - Money won at Cheyenne will not count towards circuit standings, nor will Cheyenne count towards the required circuit participation count. NOTE: Dollar amount may vary if there are less than 72 entries. Also, the number of doctor releases and official draw outs will affect the amounts. BB PAY- OFF BREAKDOWN: Committee purse - $65,000, Entry fees (72 x $275) - $19,800, Minus 6% to PRCA - $5,088, Total purse - $79,712. BB PAY-OFF: First 6 performance - $35,870.40 -
