While Hadley was in the ICU and listed in critical-but-stable condition, the prognosis wasn’t good. “How they explained it to us is like having a glass bowl and having it shatter into a million pieces and all the pathways are disrupted,” said Trina Powers-Hadley, Shane’s mother. “They gave us absolutely no hope that day, but I was not going to give in that this was going to be the end. Because we’re so full of faith, I took the two pastors to church and set them on their heels. I told them if you’re here to pray with me in agreement of how God can heal, you’re welcome to stay. If you’re here to prepare him (to pass away) I’m coming up swinging. They prayed in agreement with me.
