Second-year bareback rider Leighton Berry jumped from 29th place in last year’s final PRCA | RAMWorld Standings to 10th in the 2020 regular-season final standings to earn his first Wrangler NFR berth. If the Weatherford, Texas, cowboy has the same kind of season in 2021 and the Wrangler NFR can return home to Las Vegas, he predicts feeling those first-time butterflies all over again. “I don’t know what to expect anyway,” said Berry, who lives on the Steiner Ranch along with roommate and fellowWrangler NFR bareback riding qualifier Cole Reiner. “I will be right at home this year since I know the area, and I’ll be close enough (90 minutes) that I can come home and sleep in my own bed if I want to. But I’m pretty excited for when we do put it back in Vegas. I’ll have the same first-night jitters at Thomas &Mack. Who can say they can have two first-time NFR experiences?”
